Yeah, I don't like using those kinds of words but you have the right to know what it said. It would be better if the poster included a "translation", like providing text for videos.

aaaaahhhhh I didn't realize phonetic joke is not well-understood by deafies. :ty: I will keep that in mind.

Reba's right. i thought it was "stupid" not "super." English speakers do like other languages by typing in phonetics and spelling them similar to other romanticized written languages.

I never really did like it, especially when typing in phonetic is necessary to knowing elite speak (1337 or l33t) and webspeak. Only way people who are deaf or hard-of-hearing can do to catch up is memorize the lexicon for that kind of thing.
 
I cannot fathom why too many people have trouble with their and there and they're :dunno:

People get in a hurry, and some get confused. In a writer's forum I can understand why people would be picky about how you write. If you are going to sell your words to a publisher you have to get them right if you have to proof read your work a dozen times.

But this is a forum for people of various backgrounds, various educational levels, and various time limits. Not everyone has the time to proof read everything they write.

I see nothing wrong with being more casual and more forgiving... So long as you can understand what was intended.

A lot of deaf people I know have trouble with "brought" and "bought"

Why is that??

I do know the different but a lot of deaf people will say
for example

"I brought bread"

Just curious!! Is it a spelling thing or....

:applause: I agree. Proper grammar is desirable but unnecessary in a forum that's inclusive to so many walks of life.
Say NO to the grammar police.:rl: :giggle:
