of course, blacks were obviously from africa because of where the skin color comes from...when you are under the hot steamy sun and your skin turns darker and darker...etc big deal! anyway, they are no longer "africans" when they are already living in a different country that they are born in and is now an actual citizen of the country, so in my opinon, I would just consider them "black americans" instead of "african americans" because it sounds abit too formal and somewhat insulting because they are not africans anymore when they are born in a different country like America.
so what would you call someone in a different race who was orginally from a different country to america now? what about the asians? would you call someone "japanese american" or "chinese american" when they are no longer in a country they were in and were born in America, as well.
see, my entire family is mostly Irish, but do we get to be called "Irish Americans"? no, we are just called "americans" only because that we are "white" and other groups gets to be called with a country name that their race was orginally from and I dont really think that was fair, you know?
so, what do you think?

naw I ain't complaing about whites not having those kinds of labels, but on most applications and other things like that, there was always a race group of which you are in and they always put in "african american" and I thought that kind of concept was kinda annoying though we already know that blacks were orginally from africa, but do ALL blacks come from Africa? the simple answer is "no." so there are blacks all over the world now and it would be weird if they call them something like "african german" if a black person was born in Germany...so why not just "black german" since that sounds just more respectful?
