Why you listen your mother for not let you go to have job?

Why cant you show your mother the positive of your deafness?

Do you have welfare/social service for the deaf in your area? If yes, then go to see them yourself without hang your mother around. They will be happy to help you to look for job.

You are 43 years old and must have known that you are an adult and do lead your OWN life instead of hang your mother's apron. What you do if your mother is not around? Then prepare to learn to stand your OWN feet!

Oh boy, I did find this thread to be hilarious!

My hubby just lost his job, he is stay home dad part time while he goes out and apply odd jobs to earn money until he lands a better job. He just lost his job two weeks ago, and he is applying... he is 34.. u 43? aww. this is so pathetic.

I am proud of my hubby to take care of my boys and finding efforts to find a job to support the family even I work full time and watch boys while he goes out and look for a job.

There is always solution, go to Vocational Rehabilation cousneling...employment center, agencies, newspaper, internet, etc etc.. No Excuses....

Ravensteve... You can sit and blame God, your mother, your next door neighbor, for what its worth... there is only ONE person who is responsible for you and your actions. YOU I also have worn a hearing aid since I was 7, and have seen my hearing decline over the past few years. At 41, I am making the transition from HOH to deaf. I also lost my job as a retail executive, after 18 years, due to my hearing issues. Is it worth my time to sit on my ass all day and piss, whine and moan.?? NAH.. I have more class and maturity than that.. I went out and got a new job! ITs not nearly as good as the one I had.. pay is crap and i work harder than i have ever worked in my life, but thats LIFE! You need to stop focussing and whining about how rotten you have it.. becuz many many others have it the same, or worse than you do! Get off your ass.. kiss momma's apron strings goodbye and grow up.
I strongly suspect.. as a 42 year old man, whos living with mommy.. that this new stumbling block with your hearing is just ANOTHER EXCUSE. I don't believe that you were ever self sufficient or responsible. I strongly suspect that before these circumstances, you had something else to whine and moan about..and You STILL lived off Mommy.

uhh steve.... why dont u and your mom go out for a nice tour... at deaf school and then observe them.. learn from them.. then go to DVR ask for tour again... they will help you... maybe u should go to deaf equipment store... they might teach u guys soemthing that might even surprise ya

Ohhh... I am sensing some rivalries going on against one person. I may be new at this site, but that RavenSteve dude is obviously complaining and ranting about the loss of his dear hearing. C'mon, Steve, lighten up. You may lose your hearing, but you should be very thankful you didn't lose your life! I already lost one sense and on verge of losing another, but do I complain or rant? No. That is because I got friends and family to fall on and according to your whiny posts you clearly do not have as many friends. That leave you completely isolated along with your mother... Act your age, for god's sake and you probably would go on the right path in your life and resume your life again where you left it.

If i wake find myself in a hospital again i will go freaking nuts. Probley beat up a couple of doctors before its over.So if i ever go into trama and fall to sleep i better stay sleep. So i can go upstairs ask god i wanna start over again.

Back then,I didnnt know i was gonna go deaf. Back then i was still HOH. Now im deaf i dont want another shot. Its like the referee saying i was gonna call you on a foul but im not since you have 4 fouls in gonna let you try finish the game. Ill say blow you ref!!
