I need to VENT BIG TIME...

*Sigh* I know this may seem simplistic...but it has been a LONG time since Ive had a WEEK long vacation, and I was looking forward to taking my vacation from April 10 thru April 19th in beautiful sunny Utah for the USADB tournament...now I just found out that our company's bonuses are messed up...they have to be resubmitted correctly, and the headquarters to approve it...so that means we wont get them til the 16th.

I know this seems like whining, but since Ive been working here, I ve not had a week's vacation...most of my vacations have been days off or 3/4-day weekends, since my chemo in 2000. Lost so much time off, I have been busy making up all the paid time off in order to have this much time off finally.

Also, what really burns me is that I have a so-called "friend" that I was so kind to help pay her way to Washington, DC last year...and she still hasn't paid back a red cent! Now she knows I'm totally pissed off with her, and she is staying far away from me...I think she finally realizes that I'm not that friend that she said always paid for her and told her not to worry bout paying her back...I told her I aint that kind of friend, it was a lot of money, and I expect EVERY single *fooking* penny back!

*sigh*

Sorry bout this thread, I just wanted to get it out of my system. Now Im saving up to go to St. Cloud, MN for the MAAD softball tournament, and I tell you, nothing better try to stop me from going.

u WILL get the time off vacation for a WEEK -- its gotta happen!!!!

as for that friend who was supposed to pay back the $$ u loaned for her trip to DC -- she should have paid it back if u 2 had made it clear its a loaner and she agreed to pay it all back within a reasonable time span that u 2 agreed upon -- i know how u feel DreamDeaf -- ive been down that kind of road myself and :roll: those kind of ppl i figure arent really friends but just moochers!!!!

Dang DreamDeaf I know how that feels, I had a plm paying poeple back but so far so good i paid alot back in within a 3 yr time span i have two left to go and one of them is a mother and she knows im on government money and once i get my paychecks start coming in she ll recive a fully refunded money as i promised shes been very pateince with me abt this. and now left is one other gal she just move and i can't find her anywhere and even the internet i have asked poeple abt her so i can pay her back soon too but to no avail. So i ll just wait til she finds me then i ll let her know i have her money saved in a bank and will pay her as soon as she releases me the address and i ll just western union her the money so that it ll be there same day, even tho it costs alot, I DO know how it is, i just wanted to get those two people refunded asap so i can move on with other financial needs :) i have paid poeple back right away after a mishap several yrs ago and my bad forgetfulness now NO MORE and now i can ensure that im not borrowing money for no reasons cuz its my tuff luck if im broke and i just have to live with it! :) as for yr vacation time IT WILL COME no worries! i know ur pissy but u can do it u ll be just fine and u ll be able to get the vacation time u deserve can't wait to see u in Feb 2005 ( tweety and i might come out this summer to visit her mother and if thats gonna happen we can arrange to see ya on a side trip :) )
 
Damn, DD. At least you have backup plans for your vacation though.

I hope your friend should pay you back in full or installments, then dont bother paying her another ticket again. Borrowing money from buddy (buddies) can cause more problems. It sucks.
 
Yes I had talk with DD and hope she can go with me to MINN!!!! :lol: I want her to be happy and forget her friend who isnt promising! *smh*

by the way, Sorry DD that you went through this.. i understand how that feels.. getting no week long vacation for long time..

Good idea Oddball!

Think we learned that lending money to friends aint a good idea if you need the money in a short time. Good vent DD!
 
Great vent, DD! I know the feeling of being mooched of money and not being paid back -- I thought I had a good friend in someone who I became 'friends' with -- she was going through a hard time, financially. I was a gulliable and naive 18 year old at the time and I lent her over $1k over the summer of 1989, the year I graduated from high school. I was a loner that year...fell into the wrong crowd and that 'friend' sort of helped me lift my spirits and I helped pay some of her bills and so on.
Then after the summer ended, she disappeared without a forwarding address. I haven't seen her since...:madfawk: After what I've done for her and she didn't even bother to pay back what she owed me before she moved town. *sigh*

Anyway -- hope you'll get that person to pay the money back asap without any protests. And for your upcoming holiday -- bummer on it being scraped, just hope that the MN trip will be for sure and nothing will stop you from going and having your well-deserved holiday!

Thanks to all...I'm more resigned to not having the vacation after all...I'm waiting til this Friday to make sure, then I will cancel it Monday morning, and start planning for the next vacation...I just don't know when.

As for that friend, we did set up an installment plan...made only part of one total payment in 12 months...so I've gone after this person for real.
