I was semi-unconscious throughout the event so it's all really hazy. I will gather the details of my near-death episode before posting (on this thread) what happened precisely. Stay tuned.

Take care of yourself!

This is what happed...

It started around 2:00 in the morning. I had somehow got out of bed and walked to the bathroom. Our house cat senced something was odd and neared the bathroom door. It started making loud cat calls that woke up my relatives. They entered the bathroom and found me sitting up against the wall unconscious. They took my pressure and found that my pressure was extremely low. My breathing was shallow and I had a very pale complection. I started going in-and-out of consciousness and they gave me food to consume as they checked my sugar levels. The numbers were in dangerous levels. The ambulance was about to be summons before I began to show signs of recovery. Within a moment I was able to stand, so they claim, and stand on my own, I returned to bed: my blood levels and pressure began to stabilize. Within an hour (or so) I was at a point where I was recovering- the numbers were beginning to stabilize.

My next conscious awareness was waking late and feeling refreshed. When I saw our blood pressure machine on my night table, I began to ask questions and that’s when I got the news that I almost died that night.

We'll be here, waiting.

I'm glad that you're still with us.

AB, I'm glad that you're with us this morning. Take care of yourself and feel better soon.

Thank you sallylou. I feel fine now but last night I can't recall one thing. Scary stuff. We don't know when our number is up so love those you love daily.

Good advice.

I had a severe case of infection last summer. Doctors have told me that if I had waited even a day or two longer it's possible I could have died from my infection. I appreicate my family more than I did.

It's scary to face a situation like yours.

Aqua - first thing on your list.... get your cat a very nice delicious dinner like fish or something for saving your life.

secondly - glad that you came back to life! Are you diabetic??

I am glad you are ok. I was wondering the same thing as Jiro about diabetes.

AB, your advice is wise. I will give everyone an extra hug and "I love you" today.

Jiro, you're right. That's one special cat. Tuna would be a just reward.

If it never happened before, then should you have gone to hospital?

I'm diabetic myself and people often wonder why I'd be concerned if I got a blood reading of 80 at 10 pm. That's because it means that it could dip to the 60s or less early in the morning and that's the last thing a diabetic wants. Blood sugars of 40 or less are dangerous.

Glad u are ok and still here but my advice is to go see the doctor and have your blood work check out. Dont let this happen or get away. If your sugar level is so low there may be a sign of diabetic. I hope you do go see the doctor for your safe sake.
