i second that.. most old computers are worthless.. most computer lose 50% of its value within 1 year.

yeah I agreed with Liebling:))) go for use ebay and I am sure they will get bidding :)

I don't know... when did you get your computer? Usually, the value of a computer cuts in half every 6 months. I bought my desktop computer for $2,000 in September 2001.

September 2001 = $2,000
March 2002 = $1,000
September 2002 = $500
March 2003 = $250
September 2003 = $125
March 2004 = $62.50
September 2005 = $31.25
March 2006 = $15.63

I went by a computer store a few weeks ago and asked what my computer was worth. He told me that I would probably get $15 for my computer. When I asked during the summer of 2003, he told me that I would get about $130 for my computer.

You're probably better off moving some of the parts to your new computer. That's what I did. :)

I'm guessing about $500-700 for that system. The Althon 64 3000+ isn't old. It's about up to a year old or so.

You don't say how much RAM it has.

I don't know what the monitors would be worth, So I'm leaving them out in my estimate.

the rest of the computer parts, if they're all assembled (not seperate parts) I'd say it's worth about $200 - $300.

If some one were to buy it from you would it come with a legit copy of windows XP? If not then the value drops quite a bit.

Good luck selling your computer. I'm still getting by with a 550Mhz PIII. I'd like to upgrade but can't afford to right now. MAny of the parts that make up my current computer were given to me when my computer died in a failed BIOS flash. I'm hoping some one I know will have a computer that dies or gets replaced and I can get something faster for nearly nothing.

A good computer but I don't know the price..

As for my computer, it's like these:

Pentium MMX processor at 233 Mhz
64 MB SDRAM
6,4 GB HDD
4 MB S3 virge graphics card
14 inches monitor 800x600
52x LG cd drive

it's very old but still works... I cannot upgrade b/c I've been saving my money to get a digital hearing aid

I have an ADSL 512/128 internet connection so it doesn't make much difference if my computer is old.

Ouch. I never buy any desktop all in my life. I built first computer when I was 16 in 1997. Only $500 for mobo, cpu 133mhz Intel (I think),hdd, ram, video card 2mb, and Win95. My father gave me his old case that he dont need it anymore so it work very well.

Hmm. $2k is too much! Right now my PC gamer is faster enough for me and under $1k. I don't believe why Dell make new PC gamer for almost $10k.

After 6 months later $1k PC gamer will beat $10k Dell pc gamer.

Apple computer have high value than PC :)

PowerBook G3 I got in 2003 was $700. Now, it's worth $500 with upgrade Combo Drive and more RAM.
