Ravensteve, That is kinda personal why my grandpa commit suicide, and no it is not because of Art Modell...He died way before the Browns transfer to Baltimore...He was my favorite grandpa, who was the only one wanted to learn sign language, none of my other grandparents wanted to learned. So that's why he was extra special to me. :(

I think I have moved 5 times, but they were all in Alabama.

Arley, AL (baby)
Sumiton, AL (pre-school)
Jasper, AL (elementary til high school)
Tuscaloosa, AL (college)
Hueytown, AL (got married)

My husband lived in the exact same house from birth until college. Then he lived in Jacksonville, AL but still came home to see me and his family too (mostly for me though lol) every weekend. Then he transferred and we both lived in dorm in Tuscaloosa and now married and moved to Hueytown.

Im Sorry cheri, It takes memory and skill to learn sign language. Not everyone can use sign language. I never wanted to use it or learn it because of society might think. You might as well learn to read lips. But if youre good at reading lips no one can tell if youre deaf or not.

I lived in the same house for 18 years, then I moved to Newark, NJ for university.
Then I flew to live in Germany for 5 months to study there.
Came back to Newark, and after university, I moved into an apartment in Flemington, NJ. A year later, I moved back into my parents' where I lived for two years. Then I drove across the country to Utah and lived in Provo with roommates. Few months later, I moved to Salt Lake City to be closer to my work. After one year of my lease expired, I moved to another apartment. Guess that makes it 9 times total!

I read all the whole posts in this thread and notice that most talked about their childhood.

Well, here is mine:

Move down to London from Scotland due my Dad's job when I was 2 years old. We moved to different appartments in London and move to live with my Grandparents but I was raised up in aboarding school in Kent and visit to Grandparents 3 times a year during school holiday.
I left school and went to college in Derbyshire for 1 year. After leave college, I lived at bedsitter (one room appartment) for 2 years when I was 17 years old and moved to one bedroom appartement in North London and lived there until I married and moved to Germany and rent one bedroom appartment and save up for 3 years to buy land in 1988 and build our dream house and move to live there in 1989. We still living. That house is last and forever. (***knock on the wall***).

I'm NOT going to try and count how many times I've moved, since my father and I were both in military. I have lived in:

San Antonio, Fort Hood, El Paso- all TX then
Heidelberg and Karlsrue (sp?), Germany -- all this during father's Army years
London, England and Norfolk, VA (my Navy years)
Longmont, CO (for new jobs - 4 years)
Austin, TX and San Diego, CA (both short time)

Return to SA 12 years ago. Finish college in May, maybe move again. Have brother in Dallas, sister in KY, and niece in Austin.

Ohh, I've moved numerous times!

Ipswich (my birthplace) >> Sunshine Coast >> Mt Isa >> Alice Spring >> Burnett Downs >> Darwin >> Mt Isa >> Julia Creek >> Springsure >> Sunshine Coast >> Bundaberg (River Park Estate and Avoca) >> Brisbane (Arana Hills and Mitchelton) >> Bundaberg >> Sydney (Hoxton Park, Croydon Park and Marrickville) >> Brisbane (Annerley, Rochedale South and Carina Heights) >> Sunshine Coast >> Brisbane (Red Hill) and lastly, TOOWOOMBA!
