House Of Wax...

I will watching House of Wax again on the computer LCD so I can see clearly :D

Ugh, Paris Hilton couldn't even kiss in the movie.. she was just a good c*ckteaser in real life and in the movies. A wannabee actress, plain and simple.

This is the one I was thinking of when I saw the title. :) I haven't seen the new version yet. :)
In the 1953 version, doesn't the guy who was using the ball and paddle straight at the camera looked like actor Bernard Fox, who played "Dr. Bombay" on Bewitched? :) That's who he looked like to me! :) I thought it was kind of funny how the women who were viewing the "exhibits" kept fainting everytime the exhibits got stranger and stranger as they go by them. LOL

I have noticed that nowadays we are quite desensitized to blood & gore and some movies do quite glorify bloodbaths whereas movies back then truly freaked people outta their skins by using sound effects ie gloomy music. :Ohno: Take the movie "Psycho" and you practically clutch your seat because of the booming music and the black & white background is best to truly emphasize the blood. (which was limited)

Patty is correct here. :) Vincent Price did a great job in the original. :) And yes, it was really spooky when I first watched it!! :)
 
I saw the movie recently. I thought it was more of a "messy" movie than a "bloody" movie. I also noticed one HUGE flaw in the movie.

:werd: Paris Hilton cant act... did you see her trying to run in the movie? Shes so ditsy she probably had to tell herself to put one foot infront of the other when she was running...

What flaw did you notice? I noticed that in some scenes the girls whos lips were glued shut were messed up, and in other scenes her lips looked perfectly fine.
 
How the hell could all of those wax figures survive the heat... especially for 10 years?
 
The flaw I noticed in the movie, the "16 1/2" was missing from the shop and was at the house... every other was complete at the shop. Too coincidental! :aw:

It's a VERY weird movie. It was okay, but definitely not my favorite. I thought the ideas were whacked.

I don't remember who it was but I remember the scene. Originally the movie was show in theaters as 3-D, and watchers wore the special red/green glasses to view it. The ball and paddle scene was more "dramatic" in 3-D.

Carolyn Jones (as a blonde) was the "Joan of Arc" character in the movie. Later, she became Morticia Addams on TV's "The Addams Family."
