Holidays that you can't bear, and that you hate very much?

Sorry if its re-post but what holidays that you really can't stand?

I really am tired of x-mas because it is much of hassle to buy presents, and people give presents to their favorites.. I can't stand it!!! I don't mean to sound like scrooge but I do enjoy food, and beatiful decoation..
 
Xmas dont bother me. But the sad thing is that my Mom wont be around to celebrate with us. I know she will be in my heart when the holiday comes. I enjoy buy gift for my special boy. Watching him get exciting and open his gifts.
 
It doesn't bother me really. All what I am happy is being free from work... :D

I visited videotext on TV and saw by coincidence yesterday that 33% of Germans don't buy Xmas presents but celebrate Christmas spirits with their families. :eek: I searched the English websites to add here what I saw on TV yesterday but none... :(
 
This year I will buy presents that are cheap like Walmart, Target, Kmart.. Not at Mall of America anymore because now I have dad/his wife and my boyfriend.. my family are expanding. I plan to buy one present for a couple instead of indivduals such as my brother and his fiancee, and my dad/wife, which would save me money. Have anyone done that before?
 
The only holiday I can't stand is New Year Eve, where most people go out and get drunk by party on all nite long but they don't think twice whether they can drive or not....They're just too drunk to think....

That's why every year when it comes to New year eve, I've been staying home not going out and celebrate because too many innocent victims end up getting killed by a drunk driver....It's sad cause they think getting drunk is fun but they don't know that it can kill too...

I wish there was a limit of drinks they can serve during that holiday, maybe it could save a life of millions of people who drives on the road..... :dunno:
 
If you can't afford, just go to a dollar store...

And buy 20 stockings, and stuff them with candies and nuts and little
cheap toys in it.

Just spend $20. That is what I would do.

I can't stand Valentine's Day, because I never have a boyfriend.
And if I do get a boyfriend, then he won't buy me anything.

Word! I dislike New Years eve too, for the exact same reason as you Angel! :thumb:
 
word miss P valentines is some dumb holiday made up by card ompany to get more money. Also hate thanksgiving turkey and dressing every year ugh I hate turkey damn traditions !
 
I couldn't stand nada. I am perfectly fine with all holidays. My only favorite holidays are Thanksgivin' and Christmas. :)

I agree with you on this one. I hate it. I too stay home.
 
I cant stand thanksgiving and xmas and maybe easter too thats when the families get together. I never liked it anymore cuz NO ONE in my families talk to me at all, I even tried to chat with them they end up "oh hold on i m talking with someone or whatever" blah. Those holidays SUCKS. My favorite are new years eve and 4th of july thats when i get together with friends instead of families.
 
My Christmas is okay for me because feel celebrate and enjoy...
Loves to seeing our children exiciting xmas gift Card... which will receive 150 bux.. Our children cannot wait til "Boxing Day Shopping"

NYE.. Our family always going out and stay overnight have good time celebrate different places.. Rarely, We are celerbate NYE alone romantic and staying hotel.. that is it..
This year.. Maybe we'll going to Chatham 5th Wheel, there have children and Adult are together celerbrating which there have play ground indoor.. wow awesome!
Sumth'n different but have not made our decision about plan the NYE yet.

Thats why I start to go to my boyfriends family functions or hang out with my friends since I hate my own relatives.. Welcome to the club... I do feel like I am insvisble when around my own relatives..
 
I used to love to celebrate holidays when my grandmother was alive. Now shes gone. Only three of us were celebrate (mom, aunt and myself) but it wasnt the same without my grandmother. Three of us only exchanged the gifts. We went to our friend's house for Thanksgiving or xmas dinner. NOW they (mom and aunt) are gone. I have no interested to celebrate holidays nor my birthday. I do get invite to a family or a friend's house for thanksgiving or xmas. I celebrate the holiday for THEM, not for myself.
 
Why do people feel that they have to buy gifts. That isn't want christmas is all about. christmas has become too commercialized, just like pretty much every holiday.
 
For us, holidays is about family/close friends. Sure we buy presents to give to family/close friends and we don't expect them to give us gifts back. It is the act of giving gifts or doing acts of kindness for the unfortunate. However it should not be only around holidays, it is supposed to be "year-round", the act of kindnesses, that is.
 
im not much for halloween, but i dislike valentines day ........its stupid
 
for long time I hated valentine's day cuz I never had a guy in my life that showed apperication for me and etc.. blah but really well for past valentine's day i don't remmeber what happened :roll: anyways.. I just hope my feelings toward valentine's day will change sooner or later :naughty:
