High speed train derails in Spain

Yeah, first car buckled and derailed. Perhaps (Train frame) can't handle the extra stress when making turns.
 
I saw the video of the crash. It was terrible. Such a tragic loss of life and injury. :(
 
Looks like the first car pulled the locomotive off the track. The train driver was probably going too fast at the curve but don't know why the ATCS didn't force the train to slow down if the driver isn't responding.
 
That's so awful. Praying the families affected can pull through.

Maybe that's why some people here in US are fear of high-speed train. No?
 
Oh wow, that's terrible accident. :(

I'm sad for their families who suffered from loss.

I saw this on the news and the train should had been going 50 mph and it was going twice as fast taking the turn. Both train engineers got out alive and they had a lot talking to do.

His head will roll...he picked up speed because he was behind time...he never should have been going that fast coming to a turn. I think he knew it too as he was being taken to the hospital. What a stupid thing to do...he of all people should have known the incrediable danger he was putting the passengers in at that speed.....

driver been arrested involantry homiside he been taken somewhere else and under strick observation..he says he fasting he dont want to live..It seems train drivers do speed on that bit of trak.His family in hiding at the moment..

We'll his family isn't responsible for his actions. I feel sorry for what they must be going through, I'm sure they're worried about him, horrified for the loss of life and just all over the place with their grief. This mess is on the driver himself for using such poor judgement.
 
I wouldn't call him a stupid but the job is obviously stressful. Therefore the higher level management or bosses or whoever who expect the train must be on time all the time. Oh please I suppose why he did it but big mistake and cost his life. I could see in the photo of driver that he lost himself when he knew he killed 80 or more people.

I heard on the news that guy said he had always be fascinating by speed and I think that is another reason he was going way too fast. It was criminal what that guy did.
 
I still search for more information why did he do that? All he did admit was that he drove too fast. The black box that records of what he driving will tell more .. If he did it on purpose for his pleasure. then I can safety say that hes stupid.
 
What I don't understand with all of these technologies available, why can't they put in speed sensors along the rail before each curve with speed limitation and when these sensors sense excessive speed, kill the power to the train as safety precaution or something like that. This feature in case of an idiot engineer failed to plan negotiate (Like slow damn down) with curve coming ahead,
