Yea, I hear you. Don't worry. He'll get over himself in a decade or two... :D

anyway, I can't drive motorcyle due to manual shifts. I only can drive Moped/Scooters such like that but It might be feasible for me if I had a Honda GoldWings touring bike with automatic shift. It requires skills and strength to hold the bike stable right bikers?

Here's in Tucson, they are turning to motorized bicycle (gas powered that is) and the City govt is on the fence whether to regulate them or not... oh boy.. (here' s the link about that: http://www.azstarnet.com/allheadlines/137682.php )

but safety is paramount though... hmmmm

Convert your diesel engine to run on veggy oil. Long term use costs goes down to 31 cents a gallon. Need to have a grease route ; go th theme parks they have giant vats of grease and they always dandy to let you help them get rid of their waste oil.

The conversion kits cost like 700-1500 and you can go back to using diesel if veggy oil becomes harder to get.

Or buy a good bike.

Why can't? Tell you this, on motorcycle it is ALOT easier to do manual shift than on the car! That is because of weight, where you don't need much gas to get it shift into gear. Nope none of Goldwing runs on automatics. Only Hondamatic which is semi-automatic, and they are in limited edition meaning there isn't much available out there. I can't remmy which year, but I know it is couple years somewhere in mid-80's

Oh well... *shrug*

Prices just hit $3 here in Rochester, NY. Ugh!

I also had to spend $3 when I got gas on my way back to NY from OH. :(

I don't believe you because most motorcycle are supposed to be cost more than $1,000 per year. I'm still agree with Neo.
He is right dude. My bike insurance has always been minimal. Right now it's less than $200.00 per year for a 800cc cruiser. Insurance rates are gonna vary from individual to individual. It depends on your age, driving record, etc. The best way is to get a quote for a particular bike. Just keep in mind that the rates you recieve will not be the same for everyone else.

I'm gonna go off topic here a bit......speaking of bikes, it reminds me of a joke that I thought was funny. I've been riding bikes for almost three decades but I have to qualify this. Please,, to you ultra sensetive bikers out there.... ITS JUST A JOKE... OK... so ..... what's the difference between a vaccum cleaner and a Harly Davidson? It's the positioning of the dirt bag. OMG Did he just say that???? Keep the rubber side down boyz!!

Still don't believe insurance for motorcycle cost me cute? If you wanna see my reciept for motorcycle insurance, I'd be glad to send you though e mail, just let me know your e mail addy and I'd send you hard proof that I paid only 115 dollars for whole year on my previous motorcycles (Suzuki 650cc). Im sorry I had to delete some of personal information, however you'd see hard proof that motorcycle insurance ain't as expensive as you think... Just it would be expensive only if you screw with insurance companies.

Or if you one of those in a class of people known to do stupid and crazy things...(i.e., a male under 25 a group known to love the song "Only the good die young" meaning speed like heck and drive recklessly)... ;)

Nine out of ten times, I have seen the crazy motorcyclists on those speed bikes are the young bucks...no wonder insurance companies have a thing about them!!! It isn't limited to motorcycles either but also to cars...

Yup, I once saw idiot had his front wheel of crotch rocket up in the air for about half of a mile! One mistake, his crotch rocket would be goner and insurance companies don't like this.
Other time I saw 15 cops chasing crotch rocket, they zapped passed me while I was doing 80 mph on the highway! I believe this idiot is doing at least 150mph... I don't know whatever happend to him and other "15" cops because they were long vanished!

Also, one of my "buddy", not really friend but you know what I mean... anyway, he had old clunker... 79 Chevy Malibu something like that... Ain't high performance car, BUT he paid at least 4,000 dollars/year on insurance (Just for basic coverage and no comphrensive/collision coverage). Know why? He is accident prone, that is why! Yet he was pissed off that I paid 1/10th of what he is paying for!

Other factors that would drive up your rates are if you are under 25, male, not married, have a bad driving record (accidents, tickets, etc). Also the size and type of bike are factors as well. It's possible that someone that is considered a high risk by insurance companies could pay a high premium.

I just bought a 1991 Honda Gold Wing SE that will be converted to a trike in November and I have NO idea what the insurance will cost for this vehicle. All I know is the 800 pound Gold Wing will weigh 1195 lbs dry when it is done. I have also ordered a matching colored trailer(Escapade) for it. Anyone have a ballpark figure what the insurance will cost? I guess I need to ask my insurance company. When completed, the trike will have a value of 22K.

I saw a one year old GW trike conversion on the showroom floor last week. The seller has 65K in it and it's for sale for only 59K!!!!! The shop owner turned off the building's lights for me and turned on the lights of this trike and it was incredible; the thing lit up like a stadium!!

Cool! I am sorry I have no idea what your rate would be. If your old fart and have an insurance for long time, it wouldn't be as expensive. I have been with State Farms for 18 years and I never messed with them (Not even once, and this includes on time payment) I get real dirty cheap rates.

That will probably fall under the "Custom" catagory which will carry higher rates. As far as what you rate would be, you are correct, check with your insurance agent. Happy biking.

Sorry boys, motorcycle insurances are lot cheaper than cars. I just paid for my motorcycle insurance two weeks ago.. only $179 a year. I think the prices vary - depending on the size / cc of the motorcycle. Same thing with the cars, the bigger the engine is, the higher the insurance increases.

Yes and also as mentioned before your age, marital status and driving record also determine you rates.

That's one thing it has so much bigger advantage over cars or else on the road eating very little gas. I had one and use it for 2 full years in all weathers except heavy rain.

I was awe how much gas it drank in a week. Even cheaper insurance to cover. I missed it... sold it in late '90. I will never own a motorcycle again because I had few close brushes with it due to other stupid drivers and once by deer. Man, I was so lucky. It's just too dangerous.

I don't mind dirt bikes or something for fun. We may buy good moped bikes someday in the near future.

Yea, that is what is holding me back from riding one regularly. Not that I had to deal with the crazies personally yet as I don't have a motorcycle endorsement. I have heard/seen too many things that make one hesitate about motorcyles. If I do ride, it will be rural excursions or open highways away from traffic.
