An intruder coming into an occupied home isn't there for a cup of tea.

Uh, huh. That's why there are so many 9-1-1 tapes played on TV where we can hear the victims' last screams, or last breaths, as they die before the police arrive. Terrific.
Yup, it's true.

If people in Great Britain aren't allowed to have guns, why do the British police wear armored vests?

That is because they are expecting outlaws carrying guns. PLUS these outlaws knows that no one has guns so perfect for them to commit crimes.

If EVERYONE had guns with them at all times, do you think criminals would want to risk commit crimes? Isn't it obviously?

Most criminals DO have brains and they can figure out themselves, often they won't admit and they just lying that they are idiot. Perfect scam in courtroom.

here is simple truth, outlaws the guns, then the outlaws WILL have the guns, end of discussuin. No one can prevent black market. Black market has been around for thousands of years all due to these stupid laws banning whatever.

I talked with a guy that got brains. I realize he was right. He said "Laws were made to be broken"

If you want safer, and sane society, laws will not make it happen, period. What is best way to solve the problems? Easy, it started with education. I believe education is very valuable, and it will pay off in long run.

Maybe to protect themselves after calling in air strikes when they get shot at?

So, the police in England are allowed to protect themselves from armed bad guys but the citizens aren't allowed to protect themselves. :hmm:

Ask UK Prime Minister.

That's all about UK. :aw:

Female police officers 'should get bulletproof bras'
Female police officers on the front line in Britain should be issued with "bulletproof bras", police leaders have said.

The new underwear was developed by the Bundespolizei in Germany to provide complete undercover protection.

The officers' normal bulletproof vests, while stopping the force of gunshots in an attack, pushed the plastic and metal parts of their underwear into their flesh, causing injury.

Julie Nesbit, chairman of the Police Federation of England and Wales' Central Constables' Committee, called for the sports-bra style agrment to be introduced in the UK....

Today, Britain's violent crime rates are approaching American rates,
and rising steeply. Firearms crime rates are at an all-time high, and
rising. Many criminals habitually carry guns, and their numbers are
rising steeply. Most police are now armed, and many more are
threatening to quit unless they too are armed -- it has become very
dangerous in British streets for an unarmed copper. US police are
sending used but serviceable bulletproof vests to British police in a
"gift" program
because the British government refuses to buy these
necessary protective garments --apparently fearful of admitting just
how disastrous a failure their policies have been.
