What supplies do you keep in your glove compartment in your vehicle?

I keep my emergency supply such as Band-Aid in case one of my children get hurt like fall down while running. I also keep wet-naps, other important papers for my vehicle and sometimes I keep a brush or comb in there in case they go swimming and need to comb their hair. :thumb:

My glove box is very small because of the air bag. I can keep only the flashlight, paperwork, manual, and air gauge in there. I store most things in the center console. That is where I keep my phone recharger, emergency tool that smashes windows and cuts seatbelts, two can koozies, tapes and CDs, notepad and pens, coins, Chapstick, wipes, and tissues. We keep maps and umbrella in the door pockets.

in glove box.... i have car booklets, notepads, and napkins. I been messing in my back seat.... alll of papers, pillow, books, and plastic bags. I should go to my car and clean up before I pick my friend up for MoAD Conference next weekend... she is very picky about messing. *RME*

^ Those supplies are very good to keep in the glove compartment, Now that gave me an idea to buy a flashlight, tools that hit the windows to get you out safely, and seat-belt cutter. :thumb:

my glove box :ugh:

in my car i have variety of magazines the harris communication, twin cities maps a huge thick book god!, some pictures, and some reciepts for oil change, repairs been made, etc... and maunal book

in my truck i have tools and yeah everything tools and electrical and manual book :D

I kept my car insurance, some informations about my car from car company, flashlight (very important to have flashlight), umbella, and napkins.

In my glove comparment: Napkins, maps, maps, and more maps (I gotta have Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego County maps!), insurance, registration, light bulbs for my interior (Hey-- we are bunch of "doths"!) because it fused out once and my friends spend in the darkness miserable for a VERY long trip, and um those tire gauge thingy.... I am so absent-minded with correct termiology especially when it comes to those gadgets!

I do have another comparment that is beneath the radio which consist my rechargable for my SK2, my hair pins, my father-in-law's funeral cards, my old numeric pager (which I use as my alarm because SK2 got lousy vibrations in my opinion), and several business cards. I do have one more compartment that's next to my steering wheel but it is small enough-- only for like papers and stuff. In the comparment between the seats, my sunglasses (three! for my friends in case they are blinded by the sunset) and pens reside there.

In my trunk, i got two blankets, emergency kits, pillow (so I can take a nap between classes at University), and two boxes (full of books, pencils/paper/pens, and artist supplies as back-up in case I forgot to bring my stuff!)... And one box that I just realized that I need to drop off at my dad's storage... lol. and bunch of clean canvas laying around... and TOTE bags (for gorcery shopping. I am trying to be more enviromental-friendly by bringing my own bags like Europe does).

Behind my carseats, there is crumbled papers, a large mapbook of San Diego (more detailed than a fold-out map), and tapes. Not recording tapes, but like STICKY tapes-- they are totally vital to me, lol. And a lot of empty water bottles. :-X

AND I RECENTLY CLEANED OUT MY CAR! So imagine all crap I have in my car... [shaking my head]

AND!!! On my doors, there are also compartments which I put in my hairbrush, my umberella and gloves (when there are COLD days in San Diego!)...

LOL, ok ok I will shut up already.

I got in my glovebox:

Owner's manual

Old and current registration slips

The 2001 ZX2 Escort catalog from the Ford dealer when I bought the car new. The catalog also included information about the Focus and Mustang along with the ZX2 Escort. I kept it there in case the new owner wanted to know what it would be like when it was brand new in 2001. It was sized to fit right in the glovebox..lol!

Maintenance receipts from the Jiffy Lube, 3 Ford dealers, and some repair shops.

Scattered everywhere in the car (and I should clean it up more oftens) are USA Today and Knoxville newspapers, empty Dasani water bottles and coke cans, some books, some old shirts, Mickey D's take-out bags, dog hair from my dog sitting most on the front seat. I swore the poor car would be declared an EPA Superfund site, but I try to keep it clean as much as I can, but Im fighting a losing battle heh!

**update**

Brand new Atlas map Canada and USA too.. addy put into our suv but figures really huge map book.. (Will find a way somehow where put it) *chuckles*

I also have a car organizer that hangs over the back of the seat. In that I keep two removable window shades, two walkie talkies, a ball cap, extra reading glasses and sunglasses, current reading material, a digital timer, safety goggles, and a dust mask. In the winter I also carry a blanket. Those are mostly work-related items.

I keep a lot of things in my car, but they are all organized. There is nothing messy or on the floor. I clean out "trash" every night.

My car is my portable "office". :) As a terp, I don't have a real office, so I have to live and work from my car. If I have an all-day job, sometimes I have an opportunity for a nap at lunchtime. I go to my car, put up the window shades, set my digital timer alarm, recline my seat, and take a nap.

Glove compartment:
AAA local maps, extra pair of sunglasses, my previous prescription glasses in an eyeglass case (in case my new glasses has a problem with it -- I can just get the old pair so I can see to drive home...then when I get home, I try to fix the new glasses or get it repaired), a little book with my car registration and auto insurance card.

Trunk:
a portable vacumn cleaner to clean out my car with (it's in its original box). :)

In the glove compartment, I have maps, vechile registration (not the title) flashlight, sidekick 12 volt charger, tire warranty information, just in case tires goes flat and I can use spare and go to Discount Tires to get free repairs. :D

In glove compartment of my mommy mobile, there is reg. and ins card. receippts for all repairs and warrenties for car in a nice orderly fashion (I hate a messy car) owners manual, 2 spare lighters (yes I smoke, but not when my daughter is in car. ) a bottle of tums (my daughter gets motion sickness on long drives, I small flashlight, tire gauge, and 2 phone rechargers.( 1 for recharging in car and other for electric outlet) Under backseat is a highway emergency Kit (has all the stuff you need in case you break down and are waiting for help from Triple AAA) cost 25 dollars at autozone (car parts store). Also emergency number for AAA inside that case , There is a emergency medical kit, a lg. batterie operated flashlight w/doubles as emergency flashin red light in case you lose all electric on car and have no spare fuses (oops.... have those in glove compartment as well) in the darkest of nites. Also, in rear of van is a,blanket, pillow,( in case of a nap needed for 1 very sleepy (9 yr.old), a roll of toilet paper in 1 gal. size zip lock freezer bag,( just in case there are no restrooms around) a bottle of antifreeze, oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid, and a 1 gal of water (store bought unopened cost 53 cents.) ( Have you ever been thirsty and need to get a drink on a long drive in the middle of nowhere's land?) Also, attached to back of my drivers seat is a full kid pouch organizer w/all of my daughters wants when Im driving, cost 15 dollars at walmart( she has coloring books (2) replace them each time she finishes them, several small packs of tissues, she has allergies. Spare batteries for her portable cd player and yes, spare head phones in case she breaks the ones she has. (they are there really for my benefit, she likes brittany spears and all those bubble gum chewing singers), I try to get her to listen to classic rock- hits of 60's and 70's but she says oh mom you're old school and I'm new school!!! What old school, I'm only 38?? Any, way there is also a few books for her to read, they are chapter books, meaning each book could keep her Quiet for several hrs. Ok, 1 more very important thing in rear of car, my manual wheelchair. I am partially paralised on left side of body, as well as deaf, (very little hearing in right ear, completly deaf in left ear), so walking w/cane and a wheelchair is used when ever I leave house to go somewhere. Sound prepared do I? Well, the truth is,............... I am now!!! this is th reason why I am now!!! I was on a long drive from my home to Bradford Pa.(5 hr drive.) To visit 1 of my neices at college and it was at the time my daughter was 3yrs. old and I got a flat, around 5 am, in a very warm sept. day. The sun wasn't up yet and it was just me and my daughter, (hubby stayed home for that trip) my daughter who was sleeping at the time woke up when I broke down and she was just potty trained needed a drink and then she had to go to bathroom. well thank god I had at least some tissues at the time so, she could go potty, I was broke down for about a hr. untill a very nice man on his way to work and stopped and changed my tire(he was in a suit and tie mind you) had spare water bottles in his car, because he drives 2 hrs. 1 way to get to work. He gave me a water bottle for my daughter and I and then was very nice in telling me what to get and keep in car at all times, also get AAA and I did. I offered to pay him for stopping but refused. He said if you get this list of items I gave you for your safety, then That will be payment enough for him. By the way, that guy has become a good friend of our family for the last 6yrs. Turns out He only lived a few miles from me!!! Moral of this very long story, Be prepared for anything, my trip could of ended differently, thank god for Jack and his friendly demeaner. and safe advice. Any way that's what's in my glove compartment and mini van.

In my glove compartment I have a lotion, batteries, sewing kit, paperpad, and pens. Especially on the journey my dh tended to put his personal things out of his pockets: wallet, comb, etc. n' sometimes he brings another extra napkins & plastic spoons/forks from fast food.
And moreover in the storage bin & net bag have a kleenex box, handwipes, portable umbrella, music cd's wallet, papertowels, triple A's tourbooks, vomit bag, extra clothes, first aid bag in the backseat and a trash bag. Ofc, I do have flashlight, tent & emergency road kit in the back trunk.

There are papers of car insurance info, car registration, 2003 Toyota RAV4 user's guide, empty music CD cases (most music CDs are in the sunblocker <what u call it?> organizer), my son's mini toycars, pen-n-pad, and a couple of blue bulbs for car interior overhead light, in my glove compartment.

I keep a sling shot and a handful of pennies in the glove compartment for the idiot drivers.

Richard
