Could I get gift for My daughter's teacher of elementary school? :dunno2: :)

I usually sent a small gift for the teacher when my son was in elementary school. Homemade candy in a decorative tin, or a Christmas ornament....just something as a remembrance.

Homemade food is a bit dicey and best avoided.

A low value ($20 or under) gift card for a nearby store/resturant/coffee shop is probably the best thing to get, especially for newer teachers who make less than the older teachers do, and often have to pay out of their pockets for your son/daughter's classroom materials since they usually do not a well-established classroom.

I dropped over $1,000 last year out of my pocket on my classroom. This year so far, about $400. I did get a $5 Starbucks gift card last year for Christmas from one of my students' parents and was so stoked!

What I did with my son's pre school teacher...I made goodies and she loved them! So his current school isn't allow to have homemade goodies...Oh well!

I made homemade Christmas cookies this year for my children's teachers and principal.

Couple years ago, we brought little baskets at the Craft store, and glued some Christmas decoration on it and add Christmas candies in them.

You can buy plain ornaments at the Craft store and buy twinkles writer glitter paint to put the teacher's name on the ornaments. we did that in the past also.

It will only cost you under 20 bucks for more than just one teacher. I have three children I can not afford to buy gifts for each of their teachers so that why making things is a lot cheaper than actually buying the gift. it is a fun thing to do with your child, all my children loves doing those things.

I noticed at Bath and Body Works in the mall, that they sell bottles, 3-for-$10 of beautiful smelling and beautiful looking foamy anti-bacterial soaps and lotions. They come in many varieties. For $10 you can get gifts for three teachers. Not bad.

Bath & Body Works - Anti-Bacterial

Homemade food gifts are very nice but sadly some schools don't allow them. :(

But I think if the student makes a handmade card with art or a poem, that would be very nice and acceptable.

I guess things have changed since my son was in grammar school! Thanks for reminding me of my advancing age, LOL!

I like your idea of a card with a poem written by the child.

I was thinking of doing that last year but I wasn't sure if some of their teachers would like them cause for one, my ex sister in law got rashes from the shower gels at Bath and Body Works :( .

True, that's why we asked first to be sure, if they didn't accept homemade food gifts then I would have made something else from the Craft store.

Ouch!

The hand washes and soaps might be safer if they just try a small dab on the hand first.

Sadly, it seems nothing is "safe" anymore. No home cooked foods, no lotions, no candy, etc. It's getting harder to pick out gifts, huh?

Ha! I'm old enough to remember getting apples, home-made popcorn balls, unwrapped home-baked cookies, and cups of cider or cocoa from strangers for trick-or-treat!

Sigh, it's a sign of our times.

Yep, I've got those memories, too. Sad that things have changed so drastically.

My mother sends out some christmas cakes to my sibilings school teachers. They love these. :)

Mmmm...that sounds yummy! :)

I know some ladies bake special bread loaves for gifts, too.

I'm getting hungry!

Actually, I do remember these. I'm barely 24 and boy, the times sure has changed!

Sure. Don't overdo it. Something nice and simple.

My mom would make something for me to bring to my teachers when I was in elementary school. Of course, the gifts varied on how good the teacher was. ;)
