Georgia: English-Only Driver's Tests

AY AY! Yo tambien! (no not really LOL) Como estas, mi amigo??? I proudly support bilingual program & multicultural education at schools to remove racial stereotype/barrier and racism but first - I want all of us to know English :)

lol I knew you'd say that. West Coast is too commonly known as California area.

Job? they can take a bus to job or get a carpool like everybody else. I doubt they would live in affluent neighborhood or related. people like them usually live in city or poor neighborhoods where there are a handful means of transportations.

oh yes I don't doubt you that it's in the form but I'm doubting your claim that growing diversity is due to interracial marriage more than incoming immigrants.

 yep... my family and I used to speak broken English.

If they live in rural area or suburb with no public transportation then your answer is out of choice.

The Constitution, Declaration of Independence and such were written in English, yes? Mind you - just to be clear between us... I'm not advocating for English ONLY. I'm only asking for ALL people residing in America to KNOW English. For example - China has 8 MAJOR dialects but also has over thousand minor dialects. How does Chinese government solve the communication issue? one common language for all Chinese - Mandarin. I don't care if English is your first language, second, third, or whatever... but please at least KNOW English that we all can communicate in America.

That's really part of your dream, nice try.

Some countries have more than just 1 language to be official, also in next 50 years later, they could add Spanish as 2nd official language by de facto, along with English.

If a country have multiple languages, then someone has to learn both languages to interpret back and forth to people who are stubbornly to learn the other person's language. So I can see how some countries would pick a common language for everyone to communicate.

oh btw, about insurance? why would you be concern? I guess it is your money you are worrying about (afterall we don't want anyone denting our precious BMW). Don't worry about health issues result of car accidents because we are getting national healthcare!!! Ok, I'll stop being alittle sarcastic.

rhetoric? here's a bigger picture? let's see -

1. many immigrants are converting their little communities in USA into a bigger community, demanding that we cater to them with translations and they didn't even bother learning English
2. they're milking our free services to their advantage so that they can send money to their families oversea and then move out when they collect enough money - in other word... they're a LEECH
3. population & diversity is rapidly growing and growing. Ever wonder why racism is still ongoing in here? Learn & speak English so we all can live together harmoniously
4. What's wrong with paying for your own translator? The states offer free English classes

I'm not trying to sound like Rush Limbaugh or xenophobic in here but it's a concern for me - financially, politically, and legally. I see our system being abused too often and this is the financial pit hole. Not war or bailout.

Actually that's what states are. We are divided into states which is more like divided communities. I just wish states have more rights.

To be honest, I do not want another tower of Babel in U.S. But as far as language, I think if they take a driving test, they will have to accept the fact that they will have to be left out when it comes to electric warning sign or accept that they have to pay more taxes in order to make signs in their language. In fact, Spanish speaking people are not the only ones here (And I think Spanish is more from Spain than from Mexico), We have French, Russian, Japanese speaking people here too.

We have more Mexicans than any people who immigrant from Spain, it's very far as well.

Who are you referred to? I don't support universal health care.

HELL NO! :mad2: If this country has a significant Korean population, should we add Korean as 3rd official language by de facto too?

just those who are concern about making sure people don't drive without insurance.

I know alot of illegal immigrants don't have auto insurance, I already got experienced when live in LA for many years and you need better to be careful about drive the car, you could surprise that they don't have insurance after get in car accident.

I saw bunches of illegal immigrants are sit in truck bed and drive to workplace or home.

ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) is getting more effective to capture any illegal immigrants and take them to immigration court, many of them are face deport, additional when economy is worsen and illegal immigrants are start decline due unable to find job and ICE will rapid in workplace to rid of illegal immigrants.

and why would they live in rural area?

just to let you know, They live there because of farming. Which is why they come here. Some farming can't use machines such as fruit because it would bruise the fruits. So they need to hire people who will work for cheap.

That's where the farms are at where they work in the fields or cost of living is cheaper.

then transportation is not needed since the work are at the field. and owners drive them to local town regularly. beside - you think many would go to rural area? that was in old time. the socioeconomic has changed.... the jobs are in cities, not rural.

No, according to projection, Hispanic population will grow to around 30% in 2040 since other race, such as Asian and black population are little or no change in percent, Spanish has already dominated in Latin America and US got alot of influence from Latin America.

I believe that English need remain mandatory for education system and many of government services, except for some of them.

but they still do go to rural areas . In fact, I lived in the rural area with some farming. There is a local Old German baptist farm (mennonites... They are like Amish but more modern) that hire these people.

and why would they live in rural area?

There's alot of Mexicans are live in rural area and small town/city in my state, even there's no public transportation, they just get own car or ride on truck bed.

It has become more common in southeast states, including Texas.

Many of them does live in suburb with no public transportation or very lousy service.

there you go. transportation issue is SOLVED!

Most of the individuals that are for English speaking only are forgetting one thing: English is already an international language.

since it's an International language..... then surely Hispanic people can learn and speak it. NO PROBLEM!

That's stupid idea about owners should do it for them, nothing is happen here.

We need farms to grow the food and other resources.
