The Force is going to be with all of us pretty soon.

After years of fan begging, Lucasfilm and 20th Century Fox have finally announced plans to rollout the original Star Wars trilogy as a four-disc DVD box set on Sept. 21.

I'm still disappointed to see that they aren't going to release the ORIGINAL editions along with the special editions.

Alien Quadrilogy gave us two VERSIONS of each movie, and the E.T. came with two versions on the DVD.

This is just too typical of George Lucas.

There's an online petition at www.originaltrilogy.com to have both the original PLUS the special editions of SW on DVD. I would love to see both on DVD, and I hope George Lucas changes his mind once he sees how many people want the original trilogy.

Maybe, that idea will happen when all the movies are ready. Perhaps, this is just a short-term thing. When the 3rd episode is released on DVD, they might later release a special edition collector's set DVD box gift set with everything in it. Perhaps, it might have 7 or 8 or 9 DVDs with 6 episodes, commentaries, making of, etc. That would be really nice! Heh!
