Gas - self or full service?

In brief:

a. fire hazards
b. cashier is unable to see self-servers
c. attendants helps to regulate the laws imposed by the state
d. higher insurance charges for self service stations (cos of thefts, etc)
e. exposure to gasoline hazardous, especially to pregnant women
f. higher prices for full service discriminates the poor ppl, forcing them to be exposed to hazardous fumes of gasoline

Ah-ha! 258~ I was wondering WHY THE HELL?! but now that answer my dumb question. :roll: I still self serve my vehicle while I'm pregnant, and I don't feel harmed by that. :dunno: I always stay outside with my hand holding the handle to fill up to avoid any fire hazards [and to avoid any static fiction (spelling?)].

NJ has the longest lines at gas stations that I have EVER seen and is BS when there are pumps not being used because they don't have enough attendents!!!!

Now that I have vented, I hate waiting. When I have to wait 30 to 45 mins for gas on the

I never had to wait long lines on the Turnpike... Guess you got to them at wrong times. :P

:tears: I didn't know how to pump gas until my senior year because of the wonderful Full Service gas station that was near my house. It's closed now because of cheap-asses who wouldn't pay the extra 3c a gallon or whatever it costs for full service. Those guys rocked! I didn't have to get out of my car in the cold or the rain, and I never had to touch a germie gas pump! Maybe I'll move to Oregon or New Jersey... I hate pumping gas. It's so gross.
 
fly free's right there is a prepay gas station that has the money feeder ( similar to the atm machines) when u wanna get gas but don t wanna go ALL the way inside the store which is across a parking space then just feed like certain amount of money that u want to use, then just set the nbr then enter then presto U getting gas at the station, THEN, when u finish u can get recepit for that cash u used if someone paid and they asked for recipt for that then it's a good idea to do that...

So thats what we have in CA at the arco stations and some other stations some of the gas machines don t work in my old hometown but yah! :)
 
Same to Las Vegas, NV, Cleveland, OH, and Arizona.. You can use credit card or debit card to pay gas. I am sure that other states have similiar systems.:dunno:
 
Arkansas accepts credit cards at the pump. Self service is what I'll only accept.

I've been wanting TVs to be at the gas pumps. Look at Kansas..they had some with weather channel on..that helped me to get prepared for the storms when I drove thru Kansas. :D

Impossible for the attendants to be slow. I went to gas stations many times and they were always doing fast as possible. No kidding. I have been living in New Jersey whole of my life and I never seen a seriously massive lining up ever. It's not really a problem that you don't have to get out of the car all the time.
 
It could be a good job. Arkansas should make full services to be the law. It'll bring a lot more jobs here. :D

Oddball-- yes other states has CC thingie at the gas pump to pay for the gas -- the DC metro area does :)
 
Prefer self-service with "Paying" system to accept debt/credit cards. So, I don't need to see workers' dirty face and rotten attitude at the stores.

Any Gas store without that kind of system then not go there much but buy drinking or snack there. That's it.

That's my demand for any gas store with special system for accept without hop in the store. :)
