Yay!!! I filled out the application for the fostering the Pom. I got email from them and they said they will set up home visit. I cant wait and see how thing going. I told my son about this and he said Oh No not the little dog!!! LOL yep the little dog. :rofl:
 
LOL.. good for ya. I have seen those pomerians.. my co worker just got one for his mom. I told him that it looked liked a q tip to me and recommened him to name it Qtip, he said no way, the dog's name is MAYA.
 
That was very nice of you to foster a dog which your favorite animal Pomeranian ;) How long do they let you foster an animal? Can that take years or just a several months before putting up for adoption?


How did you get an application to foster animals? Do you get to choose what type of animals? I cannot help but curious how that works. :)

How cute! my aunt have two pom. I thought they were so cute. I wish I could have one, but I can't :(
 
Fostering

Hi Pomeranian,

Welcome Aboard to "foster parenthood!" I'm sure that the home visit will go smoothly.

Curious: Are you fostering pomeranians for a rescue group or for the shelter? What's the name of the rescue group you are fostering for?

I volunteer for a rescue group called "The Critter Connection."

Please do keep us updated on your progress as a foster parent, and have fun with your foster Poms!

What exactly is "fostering" a pet? I'm familiar with foster child-care. Is that the same? How does it work?
 
I have a pomeranian already. His name is Gizmo. :) Cheri and Angel and Roadrunner have met him as well as Liza and gnarlydorkette...let's see...

...twinnies...remember the day he decided to run away from home? :giggle:

I think I'll pass on fostering another Pom. I have enough trouble keeping mine at home.

Foster kids = foster animals = pretty much the darn same thing. :)
Right now I have 4 foster guinea pigs. But my 2 human kids are my own :)

From the rescue all over the state. They are called Pom Posse. They also have a website www.pomposse.com.

As for Cheri's question. It's depend how fast the adoption process take or depend on the dog's health issue.

Okay, how long do you foster them?

Most foster kids are in foster care until their real parents improve or something. If it fails, the kids are then offered for adoption or given to another family. Is that the same with foster pets?

Why call it foster pets when people actually just pick them up at a lollypop farm?
 
Good going Pom! Hope the little guy won't get you too attached that you'll end up wanting to keep...but then that can be a 'good' thing to--heh heh. Sometimes when fostering a 'animal'...a person can help nurse the animal back to 100% health and then get ready to set up for adoption, otherwise, these animals will be fostered and kept out of the humane society, etc., with better chances to have a 'life' instead of being put to sleep after being kept in a kennel, humane society, etc., for so long. That's one of the biggest 'plus' when people foster animals until they're adopted! :)

Foster the pets got me wondering, too... :confused:

I didnt know that anyone "foster" the pets. Is what you mean that you look after pom for your friend or what until they are back from vacation or hospital?
 
I had a home visit and it turn out well. Now I am waiting to get the pom from the PomPosse. I cant wait. :D

when i get my own house this fall, and i will get Pom too!! :dance2:
 
i never been had that dogs before! but my late step-grandmother had it but its really very cute its little dogs when my late step-grandmother at nursing home but they cant care of her dogs one of her neighbors or friends taking care of her dogs.

It's like having foster children... you give the pets companionship and a home for a short time until they find a more permanent home. Yes, it's a bit like babysitting.. you just wait until the pets find real homes. Did that answer your question?
