Now where does it say that? I can't recall reading that He was without clothing...have you got a Biblical quote for that?

The verse doesn't say He took the towel off while drying their feet. It says, "wherewith he was girded." That means Jesus kept the towel wrapped around his waist and used the loose ends to dry with. It wouldn't make sense for him to put the towel on, and then take it off again, until he was done.

It kind of reminds me of growing up in the era when moms wore aprons at home. It was an "all-purpose wiper". My mom had it tied around her waist, and used the loose ends for wiping kids' faces and hands. Or if our feet got wet from the snow, she would sit down and put our feet in her lap and rub them with the apron.

That is the image I see; I don't visualize Jesus "showing off" his nude body.

I don't understand this emphasis on naked bodies.

It had plenty of yardage to wrap around his waist and groin area similar to a Sumo wrestler. That leaves long, loose ends. By wrapping it around the waist, it leaves the hands free to work without dropping the "towel". Use a little common sense.

Good grief, I was trying to give a description that modern people could relate to; obviously I didn't mean an actual sumo wrestler. Sorry, I don't have a photo to post from around A.D. 33. Also, I hope you aren't trying to compare the lives and experiences of ancient Middle Eastern slaves and American slaves. They were quite different. (But that is a long history lesson in itself.)

As a mom and grandma, you'd be surprised what I have used to wipe various messes off various parts of kids' bodies. I've held towels in my teeth, tucked in a waistband, hanging around my neck, etc. Ask any mom.

Purple in Biblical times significed royalty.... I think, also you need to look into the mental picture of the spiritual battle that was being waged between God and satan for people's souls to not go to satan and to go to Jesus Christ so that God can rightfully claim you as his own children in Holy Heaven through Jesus Christ alone is the way to Heaven.

I understand that you're upset with him, but, believe it or not, you're causing more damage to yourself than you are to him by not forgiving him. I did not say you still have to love him, like him or speak of him in a favorable light or even acknowledge his presence, just let it go and let God take care of it. I know it is hard to do, believe me, I do. It's not worth having the hard feelings toward him, as your body will feel it, not his.

From what you just said, any spouse gets one time forgiveness for an affair, which you have done and then some more after the first time. It appears to me that your hubby doesn't get it and wants to continue doing it. You've done your job, now comes the hard part for you: Perhaps being legally forced to pay child support, then looking at his other woman, will bring him to his senses. My heart goes out to you and the girls at this time.
