For ladies, about the hot flat iron

The best you can do is keep it real long, blunt cut, no layers, so that it will be real heavy. The weight will hold down the waves a bit. Trim regularly to keep it even. Learn to do interesting braids and up-dos. Please don't resort to big clips, scrunchies and no-style pony tails.

Long hair is fun to decorate with cute little clips and accessories. I've seen some young women weave in a single long feather, or one strand with beads that looks cool.

Yes. That's what I would like to give it a try. I even saw older ladies who have beautiful hair even their hair is all grey. I thought they look beautiful. I thought i would give it a try. I plan to have a very long layer in front but not righ next to my face just in the lower where the hair needs to be two layers so that way I have little bit of styles in front. Hey i haven go that far yet. I keep trimming my hair as much as I can that i dont want to have my hair being breakable. yeah.

Reba's got good advise...so, Frisky, don't resort to smacking your hair with a hair brush, trying to knock some sense into it! :giggle:

You might want to check with your stylist about the layers. The ends of your layers will probably flip up into waves.

Too bad Farrah Fawcett's hairstyle isn't current--that would be easy for you to do. :giggle:

(Although there is a modified version: Cutting instructions for Farrah Fawcett's feathered shag hairstyle )

For the ladies only? Stop being sexism! I do love hot ironing my clothes, because of neat look PLUS the hot scent. I consider to buy steam-ready dryer for my new townhouse instead of ironing. :hmm:

Chemicals and heat fry your hair? Any chance you can learn to embrace your curls & waves? They are really pretty even it is not very popular at the moment. Wait a while & it will be back in favor. You can also get an updo if you want a change.

My photos are like hair dos through the decades. Lol

That's nice!...Are you gonna stick ur head in the dryer to straighten out ur hair too?...Might be on to something here!

I love curly hair, but if you want a mid priced flat iron, go Chi.

:)

Anything below $45 probably isn't going to do it for ya.

(But really, get a brazillian blowout!)

Yep. Those and juice cans, with the ends cut out. Used pin curler clips to hold them on. Dried the hair with a bonnet dryer.

Yup. I did the juice can thing, and my sister ironed my hair once, with the regular iron.

My mom walked into the laundry room while we were doing this and just about had a heart attack to see one darling daughter holding a hot iron so close to the head of her other darling daughter!

Didn't work, either. The minute I went outside into the summer humidity, poof! There's the amazing expanding hair, in action again.

A good haircut and learning to love your curls - simpler and easier!

The strange thing with me - now that my hair has come in silvery-white, it's a lot, lot straighter than it was when I was young, although still has some waves and curl. I've heard of people going the opposite, having straight hair while young and the grey hair comes in frizzy, but I went the opposite direction.

Funny...being a native of the Carolinas, my hair was always curly and wavy....then I moved to Florida...became straight as a board! And blow drying and hot curlers (everyday for work) didn't help much...no curl or any waves in my hair now. Curling iron only helps maybe an hour or so until I go outside....hair spray?...Used tons of it but not anymore....

How do you like it? how much is it?

you are the first person to answer my question about the hot flat iron.

Got it on sale at Marshalls for 35 bucks and I love it. The ceramic iron gets hotter faster and cools down faster. Seems like it works better than the metal iron too. :)

Ah, the bonnet dryer. I forgot about that!

when i was young i have curly perms start at im not sure what old i'm am till im grewup old enough but my decision to change my hair but i can dry my hair but have some little curly and some straighten not often just both..
