Fantastic Four

It looks too much like they're trying hard with the special effects and not quite enough with the storyline. But then again, I'm not that familiar with the story of the Fantastic Four. It might be good, I dunno.

I dunno about that "Thing" guy...is he really an real actor or some CG-animated character? it looks like all those kinds of "rocks" are WAY pushed into that guy trying to make it more like a human shape instead of "rocky" shape, if you know what I'm saying...lol

I think I should wait to see "X3" instead. ;)

Yes, he is being played by an actor, he's from the TV show, The Shield.
 
Yep. I was actually surprised about who that guy actually was. He used to play a television series called The Commish. What I didn't realize was that he was younger than I thought he was. Heh!
 
Thing looks alright to me, I just wish he didn't look so unrealistic. They all seem unrealistic to me with their powers. I know superhero movies are abut unrealism but to make it look as if it could happen in real life, try putting a bit more effort in the actors and storyline.

Finally Hollywood decide to make a multimillion budget FF movie... I saw a low-budget FF on VHS a while ago along with Captain America and Red Skeleton and boy they really sucked. Also Spiderman on VHS, whoa... talk about LAME-O. I saw these direct-to-VHS movies and couldn't stomach them all so I didn't finish watching them.

After seeing Sam Raimi's Spiderman, they kinda got the storyline wrong, revealed some things too early and didn't really meet my satisfaction so I didn't really like Spiderman... Dunno about Spiderman 2, after seeing Spiderman, I didn't even bother seeing Spiderman 2 and then get frustrated with the storyline again, if they fcked it up any way. I have yet to see a Hollywood based movie that come directly from the comic book world that really grasped my interest and satisfaction. Hellboy is kinda like that but I have not read the comic series so I would not know if they followed the plot or not.

Hollywood need to get Peter Jackson to do the Marvel characters cuz Peter Jackson stayed true to the LOTR triology and would have made J.R.R. Tolkien proud today.

Moves Back One Week

Fox has moved the Fantastic Four movie off the July 4th weekend; it will now open Friday, July 8th, leaving the holiday weekend to War of the Worlds, starring Tom Cruise (see "Fantastic Four vs. War of the Worlds"). Fantastic Four will now compete with Bewitched.

The move of Fantastic Four illustrates the risks in tying a major promotion like Free Comic Book Day to the release of a film -- the studios can change the release date. This year, comic retailers voted to hold Free Comic Book Day on the first weekend of May (see "May Wins Hands Down") instead of in conjunction with the release of a comic-based film.

The first weekend in May 2006 also has two major action flicks head to head. It's the release date for both X-Men 3, and the recently announced date for Warners' Poseiden Adventure.

Yeah, you are right about an earlier FF movie and yes, it did SUCKED. I saw it at the comic convention about 10 years ago or so, and it was a bootlegged version. I saw like 30 mins of it and oh wow, talk about lame! I sure hope this one will be better than the one I saw...

:werd: I heard about it over 10 years ago. I even read about it in a magazine. They explained how they made the movie. Boy, it was a really cheap budget that they used. For Mr. Fantastic, they used vacuum tubing. For Torch, they would simply light a mannequin on fire. For Thing, they simply just covered him up with foamy rocks. For Invisible Woman, they had a mirror slide in front of her. Boy, talk about CHEAP! ;)
