That's a very sad situation.

Governments are crazy and illogical about trees.

In my town, it's very, very difficult to get permission from the town to cut down even one tree in your own yard. BUT developers chop down hundreds, THOUSANDS of trees in this same town to build strip malls, and that's accepted. Blah!

Appears to me that the contract was not given an addendum or any other amendment to the purchase agreement. Someone's gonna get sued on this one!
