I got a question...but before I ask, let me give a little background here..
As many of you probably already know, I grew up playing sports and I was a serious athlete playing in extremely competive sports. I have "retired" about 15 years ago when I stopped playing college softball.
Even after retiring from playing on teams, I still continued to exercise and I exercised just like how I played sports...hard and intense. I used to work out 15 hours a week before I started working 2 jobs 5 years ago. So, I stopped working out when I worked 2 full-time jobs and then had my son 3 years ago in which I became so out of shape and my old injuries started bothering me.
2 years ago, I tried playing on a Deaf flag football team but I quit cuz my ankles and feet hurt so much. I thought it was due to all the weight I gained.
Back in Jan, I started a workout routine but slowly...so now I am really into it. Lost some weight and now, I am trying to get back to jogging but my legs and feet still hurt a bit so it is kinda hard. Also, I noticed after I weightlift, the areas where I focused on stay sore a lot longer than before and sometimes my joints hurt.
I know I should go see a dr but I am wondering if anyone has experienced that as you get older...does the soreness take longer to go away? It is affecting me at work cuz I use ASL most of the time and my muscles are so tired making it hard for me to keep signing away.
I want to challenge myself more because I think I hit a plateau but I cant due to all the aches and pains.
It sucks!!! Will it get worse as I get older??
