Hey guys, I got a MVP

I resetted my DIR 625 router configuration to my preference, does MVP installer have a right to change my router setting? Can I decline their service?

Thank you

It is your right to decide, if you are curious why they want to change, ask them to explain what settings that requires to change, if it is sufficent for you, you can watch and supervise the installer change the settings.

yeah i could and i already saved the configuration i made on the router so i can put it back after they left, is it possible for them to change my router to ring BOTH VP200 and MVP? or it have to be only 1 at a time?

yeah i know and umm i looked at MVP network settings, is there suppose to be secdonary dns? I have like this

primary dns: 192.168.0.1
secondary dns: 0.0.0.0

mvp and vp200 use same port 1720 you pick one to ring many poeple is angry for this

call soresnon support they is happy help u

These DNS should be different to the router. Check the ISP DNS Or if you are trying to add these dns to the MVP settings, the DNS are both the same as the first one 192.168.0.1

if gateway is 192.168.0.1 and wan has public ip then dns is 192.168.0.1 still work

It's your router. They have to have your permission. If they say it's required, then you can observe them if you want. If you really know what you're doing, you can let them do it and you change it back on your own.

That's what happened when the VP-200 installer came over to my place. The installer insisted that their router was required in order for the VP-200 to work. He had a hard time setting up the VP-200 and router because my roommate already had a wireless router hooked up. After the installer left, my roommate and I disconnected the other router and hooked the VP-200 to our wireless router. Everything worked fine.

whatda mean server computer network? many many router use same 192.168.0.1 gateway and dns

My router is not 192.168.0.1 ;)

Server computer network connection to the switch network without router since server computer network built-in DNS server and DHCP.

If you and your roommate knew how to set up the network then why you and your roommate don't help Sorenson installer for set up network in first place?

The Installer kept insisting that his router was REQUIRED regardless of what we wanted to do. So, we let him do it his way... then let him leave. As soon as he walked out the door, we fixed it ourselves.

The whole time we let him do it, he couldn't get anything to work properly cuz of the wireless router. He actually left cuz he was hungry and never fully resolved the wireless router issue.

My roommate had the same problem when another Installer came for the VP-100 a couple years ago. My roommate configured everything himself after the Installer left.

That's his job to have a knowledge how to install a VP 200 and wireless router. If the installer doesn't know the shits, tell them to bring another one who knows the shits so the original installer can loss $50..

Never happen to me. I told to my installer that I know how to set up the network then he just gave me VP200's IP address and told me what forward port number then that's it. We work like team.

You should report to Sorenson HQ that you are not happy with your installer.
"router was REQUIRED" is bullshit! He is not professionally enough.
Sorenson VRS®

There is always other way to get work router almost anywhere without Sorenson's router. That's mean he don't know how to set up all model of routers correct.

Yeah, he gave me the usual... "Sorry, only I have the password to change the settings."

This is wrong link, that link is survey for Technical support NOT the trainers. There have been confusion between Technical Support and Trainers, they are separate position at Sorenson.

Technical Support do NOT pay visit to customers and fix for them. They have never done that in the past. Their job is to attempt fix customer's VP remotely (Though Telephone, Videophone, E-mail, TTY, Fax) by giving instructions to customers how to resolve the problem by themselves.

Trainer is the ones that Sorenson sent out to customers house to do whatever is needed to fix the VP and teach you how to use various features in there.

If you have problem with trainers, even with Technical support or anything within Sorenson Communications and VRS, e mail to vrscomments@sorenson.com with that E mail, you will get better result, or response if you have issue with trainers.
