Yeah, I heard the exactly same thing as Catmandu did from some of my family members and friends, even looked it up on the internet as well too...I've enter these sweepstakes many time during the rib-cook offs for a chance to win a dream vacation, brand new car/truck/camper and many more..But unfortunately when a friend of mine mentioned about a phone call saying she won a 7 days vacation trip for 2 to Walt Disney and that she should pickup her prize at a particular location which was a couple of hours drive from her home...she had to sit through a demonstration for at least 2 hours, talking about whole kinds of BS such as building, properties, etc...They make you believe you're getting a wholesale-priced vacation which you aren't, these sweepstakes are suppose to be free and you're not suppose to be paying anything not even a penny for these prizes...I've learned a lot by this, so I decide to stick with the lottery, instead of trying to enter these sweepstakes cause I don't want to be the victim in these scams...I agree with Catmandu here, never give out your credit card number, your checking account number, bank account information, or other personal account information etc...I haven't actually won anything big especially when I brought a couple of lottery games that cost a dollar or two, and I end up winning $50 dollars twice, not bad huh? :lol:

wow, it was happened here in Germany as well ... that´s why we were being warned to watch out...

I would reject if they ask me to drive over there which over 2 hours... _ :crazy: No Way... or pay extras, etc. Accord the letter, they pay everything for us... including bus, breakfast & lunch buffet, (which is 3 miles away from my area). We can park our car and jump on bus... It cost us nothing... They didn´t even ask us to bring money... no even credit card, etc.

I would reject either if they tell me in phone or internet... but letter? :dunno: We find out ourselves when we are there... We thought it´s shame to reject their offer to use anything for gratis but our 3rd winner prize? :dunno: Let and find out...

We will leave credit/debit card at home for our trip... just small cash...

We received the phone calls telling us that we win... etc... often... I warned my boys to not listen their talk... just slam the phone on them...

Question... Did they tell you on the phone, internet or letter? If letter, then is an official, not phone and internet.

I met my friends at conference last night... We talked about those situation... Of course they read my letter... They said that the letter, they wrote us sound serious... :dunno:

Anyway, they told us the story what they know from the newspaper at years ago that a single mother received a letter from the company telling her that she won € 10,000 or car and PC... She was happy because she need money badly because she struggle with money to take care of 2 small kids. She paid babysitter to watch her 2 kids for a day trip... and day off at work... She went there and disappointed that she only get a tiny toy PC, not real PC and want her to buy something from their company... and gave her the raffle - lucky she might win? She was mad with them that she already paid babysitter´s expense - no money to buy anything - waste her day... and showed the letter what they wrote... On next day after that she went to legal adviser. They helped her to sue the company and accused them for fraud and want money back for what she spent on babysitter´s expense, waste her day, etc... She won at court and get € 10,000 and computer because the offer in writting should be remain because it´s their OWN word... The confirmation in writing is an official, not phone and internet... wow... :eek3:

One of my friends fresh my memory yesterday that she won for go to Spain for 2 weeks holiday with her hubby at 10 years ago... Oh yeah, I remember it... I questioned her how she learn that she won? She said thru confirmation in writing... It´s an official. She read our letter and said it must be serious... I told her that we use anything what they pay for us and then we will find out ourselves either it´s true or not that we will get € 2,500 cash, bicycle and DVD/Video player... :dunno:

Some of my friends told us negative and postiive stories.... Yes, we awared...
 
Most of the "prizes" that people here get are very official looking letters or postcards but they're still just promotions for selling time share vacation homes.

I do know some people who take advantage of all the free hotel rooms, tickets, and food as mini vacations, and then just sit thru the presentations and say, "no thanks." :D

Sure, we were being picked up by luxury bus (coach). It took us 30 minutes to arrive Resturant for our breakfast... We saw many things on the table and thought it´s tombola... and then leave after finish our breakfast but we have to stay to listen :blah::blah::blah::blah: since 8.30 am to 1.00 pm to try sell healthy foods and liquids, etc. 30 stick for €599 and said that we will get iron, dvd player and Vera vola body comestic as gratis if we buy 30 stick for €599 including and natural cream, etc... What a :crazy: Some people bought them... We don´t.
After lunch, then again :blah::blah::blah: until 4.00 pm... to try to sell us weekends trips..... Some people order... What a sore ass & :zzz:, I have.... I sat for long hours to listen their boring :blah::blah: All what we do is fill out our name and address for tombola... and then press my number... All what I get NOTHING but just kitchen knives set... :giggle:

I told my hubby that it´s fun to let them to treat us with luxury bus, breakfast and lunch then plus kitchen knives set... :D

My hubby said that our ass are sore to stick on the chair in the resturant all the day from 8.30 am to 4.00 pm... Oh dear...

im sure i like play games on monoplay and scrabbles on computer online but i never WON! and i wanted getting vacation to european what my goals for me but my parents dont think about that!

im been playing scrabbles on subway online and i never got won! and they later i play monoplay online on mcdonalds and i never got won!

im really loves playing games online who trust than scam!

Yes they told us on the phone. No letters. Most traveler place would fool you about win because they really need a money. They don't have many people who buy travel package. Most travel package cost about $2,000 to $5,000. We told them that forget it we don't buy anything. We got a free dinner once. We got nothing from many travel place. Some travel want you to be member that you can have discount about hotel, rent car, etc. We had arguement with them about win a free trip. We got nothing. We cannot sue them beause no proof. We dont have any letters. Big fool!

:bowlol: I know... I like to focus and find out myself either it´s true or not... Good thing is that I am not stupid and won´t buy anything to take their free package...

I laugh to myself when I look what and how we had through all the day yesterday... :bowlol: Boring :blah: :blah: and can tell hearing people´s boring expression, too... some :roll:

What should I do with that kitchen knives set when I have plenty ones... I am thinking about donate knives set to Christmas Tombola at my sons´ scoccer club.
