Here's a poll to the general public of Alldeaf :)

Everyone reads. I am curious to know what you do the most reading on? What do you enjoy reading? Feel free to click on as many choices as you like, as it should be multiple choice poll. If you feel you want to add something, or elaborate what you enjoy reading, post away!

Cheers!

yes, i love to read New Age & Alternative Beliefs,Philosophy, Travel and Art, Architecture & Photography

I prefer thriller-type books...I don't want to be able to predict what's on the next page or chapter...so if the book holds my interest, then I'll stick with it...but I've been known to chuck books that get boring or too...well, ya know... :thumbd:

I prefer to write books more than read them. :)

Malfoyish

i prefer magazines, newspaper, t.v., and internet...

what's not on the list.. i like to read people's shirt.. which i can stare on their boobs :D

I chose:

*computer/Internet, - I read the newspaper online most of the time, its faster and more convienient
*magazines - i usually read some at work when im on break, if im not playing MSN games :D
*lit classics - for leisure, these are just so fun. I wish I had more time to read books! NOVELS! *swoons*
*best sellers - I like these, but it really depends. I hate best sellers that become movies. The book is *always* better than the movie. :P
*and poems - goes without saying, I like learning new ways to write, or feel impacted by other peoples writing (and then secretly hope people feel the same about mine.)

I don't see ' Bible ' on the list...

I love to read...

  • My Bible
  • Malfoyish's Book
  • Poems
  • Magazines

I love to read:

newspapers (Plain Dealer is da champ! remmy lasza?)
Yahoo news on internet
mystery books
detective books
Analyze my brother's hidden Playboy magazines :-o
Computer, People, National Equirer (sp), Star, and Globe
Spirituality books like Sylvia Browne and wiccan books
Pictorial books like Elizabeth Taylor

I hate romantic books..don't ask me why :dunno:

I like just about all kinds of reading material. But I'm more of a novel reader. I like horror (sci-fi and medical), drama, mystery. Overall, I'm a huge Horror fan...Stephen King is my God! I also like others who write very good and fascinating horror novels such as Robin Cook and Dean Koontz. John Saul has disappeared, don't know why -- haven't seen a book from him since I last read, 'Suffer the Children' and etc...of his.
Right now, I'm reading Dean Koontz's newest book, 'The Face'. :)

waterrats and oddball :rl:!!!

i *LOVE* romance novels. Just not the kind with those supposedly sexy men on the cover. Have you ever read Nora Roberts or Jude Deveraux? They are both my fave writers.

I love science fiction and fantasy novels. They are great, especially the Harry Potter series and other good fantasy writers. I can't stand Terry Pratchett, I just don't find his books funny or interesting. Douglas Adams is a good author and sometimes, I read comics - Futurama, Garfield, Simpsons etc. I love graphic novels - Tintin and Asterix.

I read EVERYTHING!! ranging from children's picture books to pornography.

I love to read. I like romance and law books such as John Grisham. I also like to read christian books such as the Left Behind series and ofc, the Bible. I am a teacher, so I also read a lot of children's books, which is fun for me. For newspaper, I mostly just read front page but I hate having to go through those papers. It takes forever to fold it back lol. So I try to read news online when I can.
Also love to read everything on AD :)

I love reading..
Alot of my friends sometimes makes fun of me because I read romance novels.
I love them!!!!
Hear something funny?
On my 15 day trip (driving) to Colorado and back, taking stops in Utah, Arizona, etc.. Well I brought 13 books with me, and some how I read all of them when I arrived in Colorado Springs. I didn't have any books for the trip back. I had to buy some books to read.. Mom went like.. aghhh that fast. :)

Porn..However there are different levels of porn.

When I am feeling intellectual I read...Playboy
When I am feeling like light reading I read...Hustler
When I just want to look at pictures I read...SWANK
When I am feeling lonely on a business trip and miss my wife I read...Juggs

rofl, good one.

I love to read.. I read almost any included comics but you guys probably think that I am bullshitting or something but I never read or even bother to read pornography/erotica. I did once back in teenager time and I wonder to myself, "these are fakes or photos so why should I waste my time since I could not touch these anyway so why not waste my time on real flesh women instead?" so after that, I never read the porns ever again.

I read many books that deafies usually don't read. I was surprised that Lunz did read some books that I read so I feel good about it that I am not alone as deafie who read these kind of books.

For example, I wonder how many did deafies read John Gray's books? I wonder...

Erotica!!! My KootchieBootchie knows I larrvvv erotica so much I do read magazines, books and collect DVDs based on erotica. "It's not porn, it's erotica!!!" as Rachel eloquently said on "Friends".

I larrvv Sci-Fi and read books and watch movies & shows based on Sci-Fi.

I must admit my absolute favourite all-time Romance book and movie is "North and South" with Patrick Swayze. :swoons: A hunka hunka burnin' love! (Especially when he peels off that frilly shirt to expose the pecs!) :naughty:

Oooh I just realised I didn't answer my own question! Shame on me!

I read:

computer/internet: I like reading news from the computer and internet as it is fast information, and changes as it gets updated. Newspapers are ok though but I tend to buy Sunday newspaper only for the nice articles and coupons. Also, it is quick to look info up in computer and get what you need, instead of looking through books or magazines. The search function is such a powerful tool.

Most of my books here are DIY books such as cookbooks, home decoration, gardening, languages, etc... I like going through them for hints and information as I like to experiment around.

I don't read many novels though, but I do borrow them from the library and read them in the little spare time I have. My favourite genre is mostly historical fiction (1984, Around the World in 80 Days, etc...), books with sort of philosophical messages (i.e. Fountainhead, Islands, The Tin Drum, etc...) and travel essays.

As for pornography, I agree that it is boring to buy pornography magazines, but I do think some picture pooks with nudes are nice in an art form kind of way. I don't have any though. If I wanted to look for porn, I would look into the internet! It's too easy.

*coos!* I know what to get my KootchieBootchie for his birthday!! Can you imagine the Customs people at the airport when I bring that over to you? Let's hope it's not too raunchy for them to revoke your gift! :fingersx:
