Do people remember Clinton Era?

I lived thru the Clinton era, and I don't remember anything good about it. It was a nightmare.

He wasn't popular with military people. No one respected him. I know some service members who didn't even want their military retirement certificates signed with his name.

Financially, my family is much better off now.

And, while he was in the Oval office, he upheld what he believed to be the morals of this country....
If that's what he believed about Americans, then he was even more disgusting than I thought.

...We (Europeans) don't care about Clinton and Monica's scandal but said that it suppose be between wife and husband, not public... Oh well...
Then he should not have messed around in the Oval Office of the White House. The White House belongs to the American people, not Bill Clinton, and he had no right to desecrate it.

Mwahhahahaha! I remember more jobs. You cannot change the fact that more people had jobs during Clinton era. Economy was way much better. We were left with a surplus. We had an era of peace, not terror. We had era of prosperity, not recession.

You are so OUT OF TOUCH with reality. :)

Please... the white house is NOT a temple or a church. Get over with it.

It's an historic iconic site that belongs to and represents the American people, and should be treated with respect.

It is obviously what Americans think of themselves for large part. Checked the stats on extra marital affairs and divorce lately?

An apartment doesn't belong to the renter, either, but plenty of people have sex there. And the workplace is not unknown regarding sexual contact, either.

So...if he had gotten the bj in his car, it would have been okay?

:werd: how convenient and easy for his critical flaws to be hidden by national surplus and booming economy... and the booming economy wasn't even caused by Clinton Administration. Just happened to be at right place at right time......... which led to this economic crisis, bubble burst, and 9/11.

And yes I knew how badly military suffered under him - especially the Intelligence budget. It was a disaster but that news was quickly washed out by profitability of Internet sectors and some war successes like Bosnia/Somalia. It was so deeply slashed that CIA agents and other triple-letters agents via Black Ops had Osama bin Laden in their sights but could not kill him because of severe lack of budget and manpower.

Not that I'm trashing Clinton but surely he's a great orator and a very intelligent man but he has some deep flaws in certain vital areas - national security and military. I wasn't comfortable about him being at helm as Commander-in-Chief. GHB was more suitable. I was even more pissed off that he created America as a police nation and signed assault weapons ban. Granted - the crime rate dropped but at what cost?

Benefits justify the means. Are you saying that the crime rate dropping is a negative?

Like I said - at what cost? Your freedom? I am vehemently opposed to Clinton's ideal of "Police Nation"

Several variations of Ben Franklin's quote -
"They that can give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."

"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."

"Those Who Sacrifice Liberty For Security Deserve Neither."

"He who would trade liberty for some temporary security, deserves neither liberty nor security."

"He who sacrifices freedom for security deserves neither."

"People willing to trade their freedom for temporary security deserve neither and will lose both."

"If we restrict liberty to attain security we will lose them both."

"Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both."

"He who gives up freedom for safety deserves neither."

"Those who would trade in their freedom for their protection deserve neither."

Do you think it'll keep that way forever? What goes up must comes down. Because of that rapid, unstable growth, the economy took a hard hit in the gut in the end. This shows how they have been squandering money in the beginning - or rather... a false sense of illusion of things going well when things are bad inside. Remember Dot-com Bubble Burst?

Please do not confuse the mood of economy as a direct result of Administration's action. If the government has a total control of economy... my my my... isn't that socialism?

1. The First attack at the WTC

2. Somalia

3. Whitewater Gate

4. Impeachment hearings

5. " I did not have sex with that woman. "

The list can go on....

Granted, the economy was good yet morally he wasn't upholding good morals of this country.

I am a moderate leaning towards liberal in my views, but I have to agree with you on this. I know that there is alot that can be said about the sexual forays of both people in both parties, but what I think makes this different (at least it does for me...), is that he did it in the Oval Office. To me, that is disrespectful to our country.

I would prefer that our leader not mess around on his wife, but if you're gonna do so, at least have the intelligence to not to flaunt to the public, then be stupid enough to lie about it. Then, on top of that, think the country is going to be stupid enough to believe you when you say "No, I didn't, oh but, yes I DID!" when you finally get caught!

Remember this...

"You listen and you listen good... I. DID. NOT. HAVE. SEXUAL RELATIONS WITH THAT WOMAN. " I forget the rest of the statement, but it was a blantant lie.

Anyway, I am not a fan of his and never have been, so I may be biased. If so, I'll admit it and on my way.

Have a nice day, everyone.

Is that okay if I have sex with someone in your bedroom? You would be mad and hate me like forever.

Good comeback Reba. :) I agree.

If he did it in his living quarters of the White House--I wouldn't have an issue with it. But the fact remains, he did it in the Oval office--while he was working, representing us. That's a :nono:

Good post. Although i do agree that the economics of the country were better under his term--what he did in the Oval office was a turn off for alot of people.

I like to watch :naughty:

Oh you voyeur you!
