Same here, I will vote on Nov 4th, also I'm not in hurry.
 
I voted on October 10th.

Of course, you all can guess who I voted for. It should be very apparent.

The problem is that turnout has been forecast to be very high this year. This could create long lines and other havoc for those who do show up on November 4th. Also, I am in class all day that day and would have difficulty showing up at the polls.

Some states recognize election day as a holiday.

The college where I work will be closed on election day. It's not a polling place, so that's not the reason.

Some states don't allow early voting.

I think just 29 do. Mine does but I, like you, prefer to go on election day.

I saw on the news people waiting in line for early voting. They had to wait over three hours. That kind of defeats one reason for voting early--they still had to wait in long lines.

That is why some states are doing Vote-by-mail. To eliminate the long lines as people take their time in deciding the issues.

Plus it is cost effective by vote-by-mail.

While this is true, it also helps people figure out what issues they need to resolve before Election Day, such as a way to eliminate the long lines or a way to ensure that voting machines aren't hacked or prone to sudden "failure".

When we were in the military, we often had to vote absentee by mail. It just didn't feel like real voting.

I research and decide how to vote before going to the polls.

I never could understand why people show up at the polls unprepared. :dunno:

I suppose there could be machine problems in some places. I've voted for over 34 years in various places, and I've never seen any machine problems. The only problems I've noticed were people showing up at the wrong polling place. Why? I don't know.

You know, people will stand in long lines for iPhones, a popular movie, or the latest Christmas toy, so why can't they bear to be a little inconvenienced on election day?

:) Yes I do know what you mean!

When I had to go to the polls to vote--it was always nice to run into friends, neighbors, etc. We would already re-new our connections with one another.

But with more people voting--we do have to think of alternatives to accomodate it.

For me--it was time management.

Once I thought I would have time to read the pamphlets from the State, something would always come up that would need my immediate attention.

I do miss the old ways of voting but I am more appreciative in taking my time to vote at home and mailing it.

Why do you openly lump in people like this? What if the people have already made up their minds on who to vote?

And just because YOU have never seen machine errors, doesn't mean that they don't exist.

I was referring specifically to this statement:
