Did you have epdurial?

I kept saying to myself I'd be brave...but uh....didn't happen. After three and a half hours of labor, I was begging for the anesthesiologist!!!

You felt nothing? wow... must be that Strong body of yours. Heh.
 
Do you think that if all of your past families had natural birth, chances are you will go through it without a second thought about pain? My mother said that you forget all about pain once you have the child.

Any of you take Lamaze classes? I think it's embarrassing to pretend to breath "hoo hoo hoo...hoo hoo hoo" :) They say you have the Lamaze coach, doctor, nurse and husband. :-o . Normally, I don't like too many people in the room for anything. I am just the type of person that like as little people as possible. I dunno, maybe I could use a midwife in the future? :giggle:

Lamaze classes I have went to and that did not help me during Labor, I think the class was the waste of my time. I also had a Midwife too but she delivered my baby at the hospital and she was very nice and funny she made me laugh during Labor with Markus. :thumb:
 
I had an epidural when I gave birth to my daughter. It was a good thing because her shoulder got stuck as when I was delivering her and the nurse had to jump on me to force her out. Imagine if I didn't take any epidural? I'd be screaming in pain till everyone become deaf! :bowdown: Epidural.

Yes, I had epidural, with those long frigging 14 hours with my son, and I had epidural while trying to get him out. Boy, that stuffs are woman's best friend!!

But ended up with distress and heart monitor went off, and I had to get an emergency c-section.
 
I had the epidural twice with my child. The first time they gave me the epidural.. it was a bit painful but after that i wasn't feeling anything.. then about 6 hours later, I started to feel the contractions, it was sooo painful and I told the Dr to please do something. The dr told my mother that I'm having a panic attack and showed my mother by pulling my pubic hair and I wasn't feeling a thing. I got pissed off and told the dr that its not coming from my stomach and vagina that it was coming from my back. The dr did nothing. I kept say "Oh God, please do something" over and over. So they gave me another epidural. Still did nothing to sooth the pain. I was in labor for 22 hours. :ugh: That wasn't fun either. Close to the end, I passed out several times and quit breathing and kept coming back. The dr said to hurry and push and get over with it. So I did.. Boy that hurt my tailbone. After my child was born.. my lower back has never been the same. I get pinch nerves every now and then. It hurts when I stand too long.

I'm not sure about the death but It could paralyze you if you do move. The next time I have a baby, I"m going to plan it and have C-Section.. I'll never give natural birth again. I have asthma too. I learned that I wasn't breathing normal when I have birth, my blood pressure was very very low. So no thanks to natural birth
 
I have NO pain medication not even Epdurial! I was in labor for almost 13 hours with no druggies and I made it through. My lower back was hurt beacuse my son was in wrong way. Right after he came out, the pain was GONE just like that! So I will go natural birth again with no drugs!

Honestly, I prefer natural birth to C-Section. I don´t have any experience with epdurial because German doctors don´t support it.


I had C-Section after 36 hours labor pain before had first son... and natural birth after 5 and half hours labor pain.

C-Section: painful... I can´t move what I like when I sleep... just stay lying... painful.. and walk slowly... It took few months to get pain over.

Natural birth: yes painful when you sit on the chair... stitches/torn... Occhh... I can move what I live when I sleep... painful when you urine... It took few weeks to get pain over...

I compare cons and pros and would say that I prefer natural birth to C-Section.

I would like to have it natural too.. but I'm terrified of having it natural again. Due to my back, asthma and low blood pressure. I felt I won't have any choices but to have a C-section. I don't think I would like the c-section either.. showing scars, being sore and swollen and taking months and months to get the swell to go down. But I feel I won't have a choice.. if you know what I mean.
 
well.. I did take epdurial with my first son to go through natural birth, I had 14 hours labor. Funny thing I didn't feel pain til water broken (no pain for 11 hours). After water broken, oh gosh, I thought I can handle.. :ugh: oops I can't! after epdurial, ahh no pains. somehow baby won't come out. Had gone to emergency c-section. that c section is painful for 6 weeks

2nd. had to planned c-section cuz dr said, won't go through natural birth. Since baby is getting big. But funny thing, c section didn't hurt only 2 days.

it look like I would never gone natural birth again! I always want to have that experienced. :tears: I get over it. As long babies re health..
 
yeah but my didn't show much of scar of c section. with 2nd time. it did show, so it recently. Wait and see from later months..

I had epdurial with my first born, it was brillant. I felt numb from my waist down. My daughter was born 9lbs 7ozs and i am not that big person myself. so, i needed that epdurial. The downside of the epdurial is that i had back ache for 6 months. Then when i got pregnant with second one, i had to have c-section for medical reason, i also had epdurial. Then the third one was born natural. I didn't have time to have epdurial cos my baby was in a hurry to be born. I was in labor for an hour. It was very quick and unexpected. The four one i had epdurial as i was in labor for 16 hours, it was a complicated birth. And needed epdurial. After that i had the same problem with my back for 6 months.
 
My water broke first. I called the hospital, washed up, changed clothes, went to the hospital, checked in, got prepped.

Then, began about 2 1/2 hours labor.

Then, they gave me an epidural. About 2 minutes later, my daughter popped out (8 lbs. 1 oz., two weeks early).

If I could do it over again, I wouldn't bother with the epidural. It was really too late to be worthwhile. Also, when they gave me the shot, they told me that I couldn't sit up for 12 hours after or I would have bad headaches. I think it would have been better if I skipped it.
 
Have ya'll had Enima? Its where they put water in your butt and makes you go to the bathroom.. :eek: I did and it was terrible! That was.. shall I say Champ!!!! :lol:
 
I had an epdurial when I had my son. I was relaxing and watching tv all day til he was born. :giggle: I would do it again and watch tv. :D
 
epdurial ? forget it!! lol

I would not take it if I am pregnant cuz I am too scare of needle. If doctor or nurse use needle me of my back of epdurial and I would go for FREAK IT OUT!!!! .. I know it will painful till birth the baby that I would go CRANKY!!!!! live with it for me lol :lol:
 
Actually the doctor put novocain first to numb the middle back then put epidural in afterwards. I never felt a big needle inserting through my back at all. I was really scared over nothing!
