It Deafpoints is legit ? did you was join in Deafpoints? :wiggle:

Oh yes, Deafpoints.com....I've gotten a email about this some time ago, and even I was kinda hesitant. It says that the more I use videophone such as Sorenson VP, the more reward/money I will earn. I was like, huh? I'm not sure if it is safe and legal, or a scam. :S

Anyone ever tried Deafpoints.com and if so, what do you think of this?

I think Alex posted a thread about this and if I remember it right. Hey don't get me wrong .... I think I remember Alex posted something about it and said it was a good website? I am working from my memory here. I seem to remember getting something from my e-mail from AD.

I could be wrong here.....so let's wait for Alex to see what he has to say about the situation.

Hey Alex, correct me if I am wrong here please?

Wait until Alex has his say in this matter.

Its pretty much like the rewards program HOVRS had before the FCC killed it.

They may have found other ways to fund this than rely on the NECA like most VRS companies depend on. Looks like theyre going to be independent. Like be free from FCC rules since theyre doing something that FCC has banned for NECA reimbursement.

Kudos to CACVRS.org!

Hi. I never gave an opinion about the site, I just made it known that they were sponsoring AD.

Gee I thought AD had it somewhere.

The difference is free goods instead of money. I'm very interested in how this pans out. Perhaps they found a way around the FCC rules. Perhaps they found funding as big as NECA to do away with FCC rules. Another possibility for this is lax enforcement of the FCC rules.

Richard

Alex never said anything about deafpoints being "legit" with the FCC. Deafpoints themselves registered on AllDeaf and said they're starting up, we're legit, check it out, blah blah blah.

I smell a strong stench of someone collecting your personal info to sell to advertisers, in exchange for tiny, worthless goods. They also said you get more DeafPoints when you use DEAF POINTS VRS, NOT Sorenson or Sprint or CSDVRS.

What is illegal is if this is the company's way of driving up VRS minutes. If they encourage people to use more VRS minutes so they get paid more from NECA, then they ought to get smacked down by the FCC. You're only supposed to use VRS when you want to, not because you're 5 minutes away from getting some free hard candy or gift certificate to McDonalds.

A couple of things, Richard:

1) Correct. This looks, walks, and talks like a rewards program based on how many VRS minutes you use. That's the bottom line of what the FCC has ordered against happening.

2) I don't think their VRS minutes are funded by anything other than NECA. They probably are saying that their prizes are funded by advertising dollars, or companies they're selling their list of subscribers to.

3) What the fsck does CAC have to do this?

When I received email about this and I smelled fishing so I dont bother with it and I dont want to waste me time typing all my personnel information. I also dont want to get adversiting in my email and let it piled it up. Forget it!!

I decided to try it out, but I can't get in... since I don't have VP. :(

Easy my buddy, just go to earn.deafpoints.tv with your vp and see for yourself!

1. It's not just one thing you will get points. There are 4 ways to earn points.

2. We never sell customer lists to anyone.. EVER!

In that case you quote "if it sounds to good to be true" usually it cases if it's related to make money or MLM--- which often related to money frauds, etc. http://www.lookstoogoodtobetrue.com/ for perfect example.

DeafPoints never asks for your money. Zip zero!

I bet you have been vicitms too freqency.. if so, then please go to http://www.lookstoogoodtobetrue.com/ to help education yourself.

So how do you justify rewarding people for using VRS minutes, when that's against FCC regulations? Is deafpoints affiliated with a VRS provider?

Do you have anything in your disclaimers that states this, explicitly? "Opt in, opt out, we will never sell your info, etc. etc. etc.

Then who is the VRS provider at earn.deafpoints.tv, and why would Nesmuth be led to believe they're CACVRS?

Bumping this up....waiting for a Deafpoints response.
