DreamDeaf :
You've talked about living in Alaska several times, and I've been there only one time, ages ago...no, no, not the time when dinosaurs roamed the earth...
suffice to say, quite a while ago.
Yeah. My plans has been changed due to a few conflicts ( birth of 6 puppies, and other few personal issues ), but on August 20th, I will be flyin' down to Texas to visit one of my good friends before flyin' up to Juneau, Alaska sometime on the first week of Sept.
Anyhoo - you've piqued my curiosity...
In the summertime, does it get warm enough to swim outside in an unheated pool?
I don't see there's any swimmin' pools outside, except indoors. I will give you a few links to visit :

Can you plant flowers?
Most plants don't survive in Alaska. Only wild ones could survive. Let me give you some links to read :

How long does your summer actually last?
In between May to Sept. followin' the sun. In summer, the sun won't come up until 3 am in the mornin' and will go down at 11 pm to midnight. Only 2-3 hours in dark.
What's the highest temperature you've ever had there?
At least 90 in degree. Mostly cool and breeze. Never experience " heatwave " like I experienced in Iowa. For Juneau, it is very famous for rain because, it is coastal.
Here's the link to explain about the temperature in Alaska :
Southeast Coastal Zone ( scroll down until you see the topic - or you can read the whole thing )

Any other members wanna ask questions about living in Alaska?
No flaming, no insulting, no name-calling, please.
Thank you. Umm, there's one thing I would like to add somethin' about famous syrups. I will post it along with pics soon.
