Sorry, if this is a repost.

Just curisous if you guys have experienced in a car accident? Care to share your expereince?

This is not madatory -- Don't have to share if you are not comforable with it.
I will tell you mine later on, I only had one in 2005 and witnessed a minor accident few weeks ago.

EDIT: Also have you witnessed one too?

Just 2 fender benders that's all. Knock on wood. I lost 3 friends to car accidents.

I have been in many accidents.
all of them are fender benders.

Mine was a back front end crash to a little car in front late november in 2005. I had that 1982 Holden Commodore, I was checking out something on my side window and I didn't realise that I braked too late and crashed into the car. My car caused a lot of damage itself but not much to other. I had to pay $1,700 in Insurance excess. :(

I never had one, not even a single ticket in my life. But a drunk driver had slammed the back of my car when we were at the red lights (my husband was driving at the time) I dont think it does count, does it? because I wasn't driving. The only damage was my license plate, heh heh. I got lucky.

My brother was in truma accident in 1991. He was in several accidents since he got his first car when he was 16, but in 1991 was worst one. He almost died. Last summer he was in one, somehow the water bottle fell and was under the brake, he had to get it quickly but instead he hit someone's car. He is still a reckless driver. He is still a kid at heart and loves to drive fast. He had numbers of speeding tickets and a 2 DUI in the past. He haven't got a ticket till last summer first time in four years, he went 60 mph over 45 mph zone. Now cops do hide somewhere in the mountain roads, not just in the city haha...

i never been in car accident
but i lost my 2 cousins in same tragic car accident

Twice ... hit the trees! My friends did drove.. I was passenger :ugh: lucky I am alive!

I have been in car accidents twice but I was fortunately to surivive. No major injuries.

Two weeks ago, my brother got in car accident but it was other drivers who was drunk driving :rl: My brother's car is totalled and is beyond repairs. I thanked God that my brother got out this accident alive and other drivers were brought to hospital. Right now, he's going to sue drunk drivers.

I have witness car accidents many time since I drive for an living... always watch out for those crazy drivers including drunk drivers... aside from being an semi truck driver... with my jeep I have few fender benders nothing serious... my truck full of dents from rock crawling.. When the other driver hits my jeep I would get out and take an look at the damages and laugh.. Buh bye...I don't need to make the stupid driver to reskin and repaint my jeep since its a rockcrawler....

I've been in a lot of car accidents.

Most of them were minor bumps, but not enough to cause concern.

Haha rockcrawler...

Since you are a truck driver. I would like to ask you something. Say I am on the road for ten hours, I do see so many truckers late at night btwn 1 to 5 am...During those odd hours, I do notice some truck driver with tracter trailer going sideways many times, going woozy. It may be because of the wind, but something like this one I saw was not because of the wind. I fear that person is getting tired or not aware that he was not driving straight, how do you alert the truck driver to see where he was going? What is the best way to alert the truck driver to aviod any accidents? Flash your headlights? Beep the horn or pass them and say Hey, look where you are going, mind you? And show them a finger...or just try pass the truck driver and let it go? I ususally go on the road twice a year or maybe three times a year. Would be great to be prepare for the warning next time.

And one more question...is it illegal for two tracter trailer to stay side by side going like 10 mph and they got room ahead like say 100 feet in 60 mph zone? They won't let me or anyone get through!!!!!! We get so back up bec of them...We didn't see anything wrong with the lanes ahead. Did they purposely do that to avoid anyone speeding due to constructions ahead for like say 100 feet or so? Then they will go faster. Why would they do that???? Is it illegal for them do that?

I have been into an accidents. Two times fender bender and the third one was a young girl hit me on the side of my truck. I thought I hit the curb but not.

Now I dont have that truck it is gone thanks goodness to many problem with that truck.

to answer your question....the trailers usually woozy since it might be empty. the driver should know better too turn low pressure switch trailer brakes to keep the trailer back on straight. but maybe he didnt pay attention on his trailers. yeah most of truck driver drives around 1-5am since less traffic.

well i never do that to stay in lane with other truck passing me.. if he didnt go passed me then i will brake down until the truck gets pulled in my lane. maybe thats the reason they slowed down to give you all drivers caution ahead. but really the truck driver should known better to get behind another semi truck and caution braking... some drivers are an idiot.... they always have reason but i cant tell since i dont know what was going on with those nitwit drivers. :dunno2:

remmer, semi truck dont brake faster than regular vechile. so please give some respect to the driver. how would you like if you were going up steep hill with heavy load hauling 34,000lbs but there a stupid person cut me off. you have to downshift down then the stupid person speeds up. you upshifting again..again and again... how would you feel?? (i would be pissed and wont brake for this stupid person.)

i have been in 1 but i wasnt driving my friend was and we hit a bus! it was horrible

Now I got the picture...it was empty so that was why. So it was not the wind. You are a good truck driver. Yes, I know how you feel. Same thing about the exit...truck drivers won't stop at yeild sign...I must go on other lane to let the trucker keep going from the ramp. It is my worst nightmare, lol.

I always give the truck driver more room because I do have fear, lol. If I have to pass it I have to go like 20 miles over the speed limit, lol. Huuuuurrrrry, lol. Anyways, that indinict I had with two trucks in front of my side by side got me really mad because they won't move or get out of the way. But my POV (point of view) maybe they did that because we were backed up for like 45 minutes...maybe they wait till the road is clear, then we can go faster than to wait forever. I don't know. Yes they were idoits. I will have to tell u a story about what happened last year on Valentine's Day. Horrible. I am writing a book about it.

cause of accidents by speeding

Avg. speed at 60 mph equals a mile a minute, add or subtract 5 mph and it adds or subtracts 5 seconds... (not much) but over a looooong distance it could save you about 30 mins to an hour, but in the long run it's still not worth the fustration most drivers incur upon themselves, I drive 75 in a 70, and 70 in a 65, and 60 in a 55 (just me)...and at 55 mph you should allow yourselves a 7 second "cushion" that usually involves a 3-5 car length distance (yeah right!!!) but it allows you to avoid FVCKTARDS that create a hazzard and leaves you an out. But of course I'm an idiot and don't know anything since I drive for a living...

for an example of time and distance, if you were to drive from sparks to carlin,Nv. at 65 mph, then do the same trip at 60 mph it adds 20 min. to the overall time. if you wreck or cause an accident at a higher rate of speed, and could have avoided such an incident at a slightly lower speed was it worth it ?? but keep in mind the posted speed is 75 majority of the trip, thus running at 60 you are now the hazzard...by causing other drivers to unneccessarily taking risks, since you are now hindering the flow of traffic...
