Jack Straw: Iran attack would be 'nuts'

The Bush administration is planning to use nuclear weapons against Iran, to prevent it acquiring its own atomic warheads, claims an investigative writer with high-level Pentagon and intelligence contacts.

President George W Bush is said to be so alarmed by the threat of Iran's hard-line leader, Mahmoud Ahmedinejad, that privately he refers to him as "the new Hitler", says Seymour Hersh, who broke the story of the Abu Ghraib Iraqi prisoner abuse scandal.

Some US military chiefs have unsuccessfully urged the White House to drop the nuclear option from its war plans, Hersh writes in The New Yorker magazine. The conviction that Mr Ahmedinejad would attack Israel or US forces in the Middle East, if Iran obtains atomic weapons, is what drives American planning for the destruction of Teheran's nuclear programme.

Cause a Nuclear Bomb is the only thing the arabs will understand.Just like The Revenge for Pearl Harbor made the japs understand.Now Japan wouldnt dare attack us again.Cause those japs felt the heat and horror when we dropped the A-BOMB on hiroshima.
 
This is not gonna to happen! Trust me! Not even one person in the world would dare to press that red button. They don't want to be the first one to start nuclear war. Even them Iranian don't have guts to do such thing. It is all trash talk, you know these politicans never kept their words! The only real reason for any country to start any nuclear warhead program is defense, and intimid another country rather than offensive. They believe that building nuclear warhead reduces chance for anyone trying to attack them with nuclear warheads. Wanna proof? Look at history on cold war, Both United States and USSR had done the same thing and neither of them pressed that red button! They both knew it is not worth the risk to start one.

So again, I don't think we will ever see any country into nuclear war.

Explain why Harry Truman dropped the A-BOMB on Japan? He Dropped the A BOMB was Payback for Pearl Harbor attack.
 
President Truman dropped the nukes on Japan to save his own troops. He and all others knew that US troops involved with hand to hand combat would have cost the US and allies hundreds of thousands (If not more), lives on both sides of the sword. The way they looked at it was simple, if they send troops into Japan, most (if not all) would come home in a bag. They also knew that the Japanese must be stopped. So the best option was to drop the bombs. Yes, the nukes killed hundreds of thousands of japanese, but by taking this action, we saved ALOT of allied troops and brought that theatre to a speedy close.
The historians all agree that this is why we dropped the first bomb ( the smallest of the two) and waited a few days. They were anticipating the Japanese Emporer to immediately surrender after the first on ewas dropped. We gave him a few days to surrender. When he didnt, we hit them again, this time with a bigger bomb. This showed the Japanese that we were gonna keep dropping bombs, that were progressively bigger, until they surrendered. This is why the emporer surrendered the day after the second bomb was dropped.

Sorry, Im an amuteur history buff. I watch alot of History Channel.

As far as the nuke option with Iran, as biker said, it'll never happen. Do you remember when we started in Iraq? There was also a nuclear option. There will be a nuclear option in the planning phase of every military conflict. They are covering their bases. You always examine every possible option, if you dont, the one option you need will always be the one you never prepared for.

There is a saying in my line of work(police officer) "everyone has a plan until they get hit" Once you get hit, you better have a plan. The faster you get over that initial stun, get back on the plan, get back in the fight, the better you will come out of the fight. You never eliminate anything as an option when you are fighting for survival. Its the rules of the jungle.

Remember on the news Iran shows their navy have a new weapon can take out ships? It shows IRAN is planning to start the attack rather then someone from the west starts it first,US ships are in the gulf at this very moment.Iran might approach a U.S. fleet and attack it.Then Bush will respond with an nuclear attack on IRAN.And Nostradamas predicted the WTC attack he was very accurate.

Japan doesn't have a military. Explain to me exactly how they could, let alone would, go about attacking us, please.

Now im not a racist.How can anyone not like these people who cruely attacked our nation on 9-11 just because they want our government to stop aiding and supporting israel? Those 3,000 people who died had nothing to do with U.S policies on aiding and supporting israel.If the middle east wanted to hurt america why dont they go after our president or hillary rodham clinton? Theyre the ones who make the decisions on the U.S Forgien policies towards the middle east.Those 3000 people had nothing to do with setting the policy on supporting israel.As far japan goes they thought the U.S. Military was gonna to attack them so they decided to attack us first.You got a lot to learn about life. Whatever you decide to do in life has Rewards or consequences in it.If you decide to commit murder you have to accept the consequences.Japan paid a big price for what they done they commited murder and we delivered the judgement and the sentence is death.That was the meaning of dropping the atomic bomb on them.Now the arabs hijacked 4 planes killed over 3,000 innocent lives now they must pay the Consequences.Just like the germans chose to invade russia in 1943 and nikita kruschev punished 1/2 of europe and halfed germany and made them live in communist rule.Life has consequences.A few people just dont think it applies to them.
 
Remember back then at that time Truman dropped that bomb. Who else have these kind of weapon? Ofc nobody else! That is why America was at their advantage, America knew there are NO other countries that have this kind of bomb. So the chance of backfire is far slim. Right now, how many countries have these kind of bombs? OFC plenty! The chance of once one starts, there will be copycats! No one wants to be the first one to start it. They all rather wait til somebody else start so they know they won't be the one to be blamed.

History shows that America actually made huge mistake on dropping that bomb. The consequences of that two bombs droppped is what we are dealing right now! If had Truman honor Albert Einstein advice NOT to use that kind of bomb, I am pretty sure that Iranian won't even bother have one.

Pakastian now have nuclear programs, they have successfully tested and build them. Did Pakastian have the guts to use them? Not yet! Why make so much deal with Irans while there are several other enemy countries got em?

Un national Army has to check their nuclear and to make sure but unfortunally Iran refused co-operative w/them..

So by the way, Will come nuke'em on Iran directly for thier warning as incoming way "final warning" That what My hubby said..

Reason why, us wanted to destory nuclear plant.. to stop them making for stupid!

If we use em were not gonna get hit.The U.S. has developed a defense missle system can take out 80% of the warheads if it ever becomes a full scale nuclear war.So Little nations like IRAN,Pakistan,India or even North Korea try attack us with one it will be a wasteful launch.But its the super power nations were worried about like China or Russia.
 
I believe there's goin' to be a Nuclear War. Eyes, hair and skins will fall out. Russian and China armies will die from it when they have a war against Israel. Our armies will die from it, too because they are goin' to be involved to protect Israel against Russian and China armies. I would probably say around 85 percent of Russian and China armies will drop dead due to Nuclear bomb. I am not specifically sayin' that the 85 percent is right - but, roughly around there unspecifically.

Iran is an Arab Nation, right ? If, so - then, they will expose to Nuclear War as well.

Israeli armies will bury them for 7 months, accordin' to the bible.
 
I do not believe in alol of the Nostradaos stuff. He has made several predections that did not come true. When these predictions come and go without fruition, they go unpublicised.
As far as Japan not having a military, you are incorrect. Initially they were not allowed to have a military after they surrendered at the end of WWII. They were later allowed to have a standing military. They have one of the premier navies in the world.

Have you read the modern Constitution of Japan? It explicitly states that the nation shall not have a military. The "self defense force" isn't large enough to be considered a military in any normal sense.

Actually, the lack of a real military is one of the reasons that Japan is such an economic powerhouse. The minute defense budget and understanding that the US will defend them is great for Japan because it means that money can be allocated to other things that the public needs or industry wants.

Japans politicans are more wealthy than ours cause of no army and they tax their people high as well.

Most Iranians are Muslims, but they are Persian, not Arab, and they speak Farsi.

Teresh !!!!! Japan does have a very high state of military readiness..... I will show you a video clip of the Japanese military today. They are armed with F-16's , Navy ships , special operations teams and many different things that are good incidiators of a powerful modern day military capablities. I am looking for that right now.
