This is not gonna to happen! Trust me! Not even one person in the world would dare to press that red button. They don't want to be the first one to start nuclear war. Even them Iranian don't have guts to do such thing. It is all trash talk, you know these politicans never kept their words! The only real reason for any country to start any nuclear warhead program is defense, and intimid another country rather than offensive. They believe that building nuclear warhead reduces chance for anyone trying to attack them with nuclear warheads. Wanna proof? Look at history on cold war, Both United States and USSR had done the same thing and neither of them pressed that red button! They both knew it is not worth the risk to start one.

So again, I don't think we will ever see any country into nuclear war.

In general, I would agree with you mostly 100% with this. Unfortunately, I have to hedge my bets here. You dealing with a part of the world where irrational things tend to happen. Go back to history in the 80's with the Iranian/Iraqi conflict. That has to be a very bizarre war where the Iranians were getting desperate and sent young boys as soldiers. Not even the Iraqi quite got that stupid (and they were stupid about other stuff).

If we use em were not gonna get hit.The U.S. has developed a defense missle system can take out 80% of the warheads if it ever becomes a full scale nuclear war.So Little nations like IRAN,Pakistan,India or even North Korea try attack us with one it will be a wasteful launch.But its the super power nations were worried about like China or Russia.

Er...I'm sorry but anybody who willing take even that 20% is missing some marbles. Let's take our population as a scale to demostrate this better. We have um...some 300+ million in population and 20% is 60+ million. Somehow, that doesn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling. Now, obviously this is in context of a full nuclear war which is highly unlikely.

Okay, lets get real here and scale this to the small nuclear attack by say "Iran" in this case. Say they shoot five such missles which might be a stretch but possible...we are taking about 1 missle hitting say NYC or DC. Even with a small warhead we ain't taking light casualities.

Bottomline, until they get that missle defense system perfect, there are no winners here. Sure, we would most likely prevail but at what cost to everybody involved and not involved.

BTW - I sure don't believe in that 80% figure you quoted as we couldn't even get near that percentage with the first Gulf war with Scuds of all things.

Now, make up your mind. If you claim this missle defense system can handle only up to 80% of incoming missles, then somewhere a missle can get through. You can't claim that none will get through. Your optimism is quite unjustified. There is no such thing as a 100% reliable missle defense system anywhere in the world. Maybe at some point in the future it may happen but not anytime soon.

So, in the meanwhile, we need to be circumspect and assume that it could happen which should provide incentives for us to carefully maneuver in the world.

Personally - if there ever IS a nuclear bomb used again- I think it will be one Arab/Middle East nation against another, not against the West. The violence in Gaza is a good example.

I wouldn't be too sure about that. Lots of countries wouldn't mind us taking a nuke or two. I see it being more likely we see a "dirty" bomb.

I know someone whos in the military.He told me the U.S. NAVY ships and subs now carry those defensive missles.He said if i told anyone no one will belive you. Its been kept secret not even the press knows about this highly advanced defense missle system.Belive you me everyone will know when ether north korea or another nation with fewer than 1000 nukes decide to attack us with nukes and when those missles take them out then the world will know all about those defensive missle tech we have.So as long china or russia stays cool on us we got nothing to worry about.
