:wave:Botti and anyone interested...we <I thought> were having a "fun thread" relating to my "going to get some Chinese food for everybody" a few days ago and in seriousness, I didn't get back to that thread so I wanted to apologize:aw: I know people might not care either cuz we all do have other activities but in case anyone did...
Been very hectic here with everything going on.

I totally miss getting Chinese food. Daughter does not like it at all. I grew up on all kinds of Oriental food and such. Son is wanting to try sushi again.

I like sweet & sour, Beef & Peppers, Egg Foo Yung, Moo Goo Gai Pan and a whole host of others.

I am VERY choosy about which Chinese foods to order.....a lot of it, I don't care for.....especially sushi! :barf:

:wave:Kristina!
We had Chinese food lots of times growing up..the "American versions", in honesty....my dad loves Egg Fu Yung:)

one of my favorites is some Spring rolls with lettuce and spicy sauce we can get at a restaurant here. I always loved the Fried Rice but don't have it much anymore.

A new Chinese and Chinese American food market opened up near our house I would like to look in.

:wave:Tousi!
I know many who like sushi but I'm not one either....

I really like Mongolian beef. And I like some Vietnamese spring roll which is just lettuce in a gummy type wrapper with shrimps on the top.

When I was growing up, a Chinese restaurant was close to my father's workplace so we used to eat there a lot after we picked him up. I always was given the special Chinese customer's menu, which had lower prices. I worked hard on being good with chopsticks and having good Chinese manners. I felt so special being an honorary Chinese customer, that it has stuck with me as a favorite food to this day.

I really did like egg foo yung and egg rolls a lot in my childhood. The hot mustard then was really hot , in a way that burned the tongue and sinuses, and it doesn't seem to be that way at too many restaurants now.

Oooo Where can I start - Dumplings made from scratch is one.

Duck woton soup is pretty good. The meat has an earthy flavor to it.

Ahhhies, I got to get me some chinese tonight.

I am totally addicted to egg rolls and just bought a bunch today. I have vegetable egg rolls and vegetable spring rolls. When I do stir-fry for the family, I do a separate one for me with no meat, or with seitan.

Have to keep the hoisin (sp?) sauce away from son. He is deathly allergic to it. Spent a week in the hospital when he was little and now we keep it away.

I love Chinese food. Really. More than Japanese. Won't eat sushi.

I love Chinese, Thai, and Indian food. I have tried Vietnamese food but I'm not wild about it and I've tried Korean food. I'm not sure if I hate Korean food and there's a Korean restruant near me but it's not very good. I would have to sample other Korean restruants before I decide I hate Korean food.

Oh I forgot to mention I love Japanese food too.

I will have to try that.

I think the trick is in their sauces. And their additives, one of which is nuts. Especially peanuts. I always love the crunch that adds, although I suppose that doesn't work for those allergic to nuts.

I haven't had Mongolian or Thai in quite a while but I love it:)

Love General Tso Chicken! MMM! We had that last week. I also like beef and broccoli, sweet and sour chicken or pork, not sure what else? Oh yea...egg rolls mmmm! YUM!

Hubby LOVES dumpings...either fried or steamed. He eat it first then other lol!

Since I've moved to a new town, I haven't been able to find any decent Chinese food. :(

Oh goodness, I like all Eastern foods. My favorite Oriental dinner is Hunan, Sichuan for Chinese or any Thai, Vietnamese or Japanese. We would need another thread if I told all the Indian I love.

So a typical meal that I like to cook would be..

Gyoza
Velvet Corn Soup with egg drop noodles
Dancing rice (steamed rice with bonito flakes)
Chilled firm tofu cubes seasoned with grated ginger, sliced scallion and garlic paste
Garlic pork or chicken
Hot teas
Tofu pudding or baobing (shaved ice with syrup, fruit or condensed milk)

Thats what I make, anyone like to try it?
