This morning a little after 3:30 I heard and felt a hard knocking on the door, I was immediately evacuated and shortly found out that somebody called and made a bomb threat to our store so end up staying outside nearby the street nearly for 2 hours. Police didn't find anything but there'll be few of undercover polices around for the next 48 hours to make sure nothing's going on... Also they're investigating on the phone calls... There's a standard procedures that everyone has to go through... Oh geez what's wrong??? oh wella but HEY at least I enjoyed getting paid staying outside watching the beautiful sunrise over the city... The important part is that nobody's hurt and all is well...

It's very stupid and sick to make a bomb threat that would kill many innocents, whether there's not a bomb or not.

afew years ago someone has made a bomb threat call at a mall and EVERYONE got out, including the mall police, etc...so the bomb squard and SWAT got in there and found no bombs at all though it was considered a prank, but very stupid prank.

You not only one! I went to my work last 4 or 5 yrs ago. My workers told me and them go home for one day also say UPS bomb suspect it. But everything okay! It stupid scared them out!

That's scary but I'm glad to hear that no one got hurt or anything...

I have gone through bomb threats at school and a few times from when I was at work. Nothing bad happened but it really made alots of people including me very mad and upset, Well at school I did not mind it too much unless we had to walk out of school on rainy days when the weather was bad and we did not appreciate that. I am not saying we appreciated or we did not appreciate that but back then we were just too happy to have classes cut short then move on with next classes then after school go back to our dorms and to soccer practice on the field etc. You know what I mean .....but at work that is another story. I really don't like getting called outside to wait when I am at work but I do get paid to stand outside and wait and one time it was raining and the police would not let us go sit in our cars or trucks for our own safety so we found people with umbrellas and thankfully stood under the umbrellas and we took turns holding the umbrellas so our arms did not get tired of holding the umbrellas for a very long peroid of time. I do take bomb threats very seriously wheter they are prank or the real deal. It is better to be safe than sorry. All it takes is one before it becomes all too real and that is never a very good situation at all.

I'm glad that no one was hurt! I dont think 48 hours is enough...maybe it is but..Im concern what if the person who made a bomb threat is very intellegent and wait for the next few days or several weeks? That's pretty scarring but I pray the cops will catch the person before it happens...

Im so glad you are in God's hands for protecting you..

i have not expenence bomb threats but i know what is like :Ohno:
it can be scary if it is real

i hate when people make waste time to threat like prank calls for nothing SCOFFS

Ouch stupid of most people makes bomb threats...

One of the university I used to go... but I wasn't there at the time coz I was overseas for a year... my friend was there... she was telling me about bomb threat happened one morning, once the word got spread, everyone zoomed out of university... cops and army came down to search on the university to find the bomb, but there wasn't any.

No one came back to university until couple days later.

Yeah, They take bomb threats very seriously. It's all because of Terrorist incidents. Also never say "I have a bomb" in public either, even if you're joking.

I don't know why people play those kind of pranks, It not funni at all, It's very serious, because it cost people lives. :(

Or follow the crowd and get the hell out of there a.s.a.p.

Sorry to hear that but I never had experience. But I did saw a possible bomb at the court house when I drove by. There was police and bomb squad all over the court house and I saw a box sitting outside the courthouse that had a mailbox next to it. That was scary and I had to drive fast to get the hell of off there so I couldnt get hurt. Dunno why they didnt block that street.

Public easily misunderstands the term. One person was talking about you.

"Whoa, Look at that babe. Damn fine...she is so bomb...

Cher, you surely stir the public making the alarms...

That is why it is very important to not talk about bombs, explosives etc. unless this is being talked about in an appropriate manner like here on this thread.

Only say " Ohh Ahhh, Booommb !!!! Get the hell out of here !!!! " obivously in a Real Emergency to save lives. For example you walk into the public bathroom then you open the bathroom stall and there is a bomb sitting on the toilet seat and some sicko obivously placed it in full plain view or that if you see a suitcase and you know it is not yours and you hear this tick-tock noise of a clock with your hearing aid or your CI and you know for sure it is not a good situation then go get a police officer who will take care of the problem and get the hell out of there and wait until the police give you the all clear sign to go back in the building. Bomb threats these days need to really be taken more serious especially in a post 9/11/01 environment.

Advice: Never ever touch or go more closer to a suspcious suitcase or a package. Report to the police or dial 911 and warn people to get away from the area. Do not let anybody else touch the susicious package or suitcase because some sicko may just be waiting for someone to pick it up and that person is gone or the bomb is designed to go off once it is picked up.

Do not use a "bomb" term at any public transportant.

I.E., the customer in the air airline jet types "bomb" on his computer for his work/pleasant (poem/novel/script). The flight attendant notices the term and can report to FAA security as soon as the jet lands. He/she may be arrested for using the "Bomb" term...

Explosives are strictly used by the military for wartime purposes to repel wave after wave of enemy combatants on the battlefield or a construction company uses controlled explosives for the purpose to destroy old empty buildings to make way for new buildings to be built.

Here is an appropriate use of explosives as you can see old football stadium being demolished to make way for a new football stadium.

This process is called an implosion. Here are several video clips of implosions on a wide variety of building structures. They are always interesting to watch from a safe distance or on a video clip.

Some are somber, plain events and some are very festive events and they are all very positive and also very appropriate use of explosives.
