Not always prevents hackers to getting into other people's computer. They can always find a way to turn the firewall off or get thru it.

McAfee? i ahd used this before. it is kinda sucks and it collapsed on my PC twice. you know what? McAfee had virus hideon CD program that I bought from store. I was :shock: and pissed off big time.. I threw McAfee CD out. my advice is that you don't buy mc Afee.. it is con-art antivirus program!

There is no way to transmit a virus simply by viewing the thread, providing of course that I do not allow HTML in posts or sigs. It's probably a cookie/firewall issue that I'm not aware of.

I found out that if i leave firewall on.. it prevent the hacker or stuff to go in my computer. but unbelivable, I have 2 pages on log with http or porable numbers or ips ... SMH.. why must they tried to get in eh.. they dont have a life.. hehe

Is there a way I can get this log? Maybe I could pinpoint at what is causing the problem?

Does it mean, you have something important files that you are afraid someone going to steal your?

You don't need firewall, unless you are involved in serious-business.
 
change to Norton Anti virus. Firewall dont harm you anything. might DOS (Denial Of Service).
I always prefer Norton instead McFee :) I have firewall under zonealarm. there have alot of different firewall whichi s good for your pc. speaking of norton - they will pop and let you know that you have virus on your pc every time you receive email or surf site. good luck with your pc
