Deaf 258 never shut down on the computer. And he's away from his computer. :-o

:P I never shut down my computer either, and it's on 24/7. Unless, I'm gone for a few days.
 
I stay online and connected, so what? There is no regulation on how much I stay on cable modem! All my three PC is hooked up, and stays connected 24/365! Its much easier for me to just sit down and surf than to wait for PC to boot up! Whats more computer tend to last longer if left on almost all the time. That is because with them being running all the time the temperature stays stable, less expands and contracts on parts. If PC is shut off and on several times, it cools down and warms up it just expands and contracts til it snaps. The only exception is monitor, it DOES have finite life. The longer it is left on, it will burnt out sooner.

Just same idea as paperclip if you bend it back and forth several times it WILL break off.
 
Yeah, I do the same thing, too! :D I think AIM disconnects you after 2 weeks. Does anyone get that, too?
 
10 Days on line? :eek: If I leave it on for 10 days my computer would be on fire! :whistle:


Anyone offering to get me cable?

same here! :thumb: unless i go out of down... then i shut it down to take a breather! :giggle:
 
Gosh, what a waste of electricity! Your electricity bill must be higher than normal, no?

As for me, I don't put the computer and ADSL on all day. Mum'd kill me.
 
I leave my puter on all the time..... never shut down.... :)

I using cablemodem.... Pretty purrring and doesn't shut down ever since...
Espically of course reboot becz of install new hardware.. *rolls* ehheheh

Lovely puter stay on.. When I'm gone bed... itself will sleepmode.
Best new puter than old puter.. :)

Actually it's cost the same to leave the computer on...it takes more engery turning on and off the computer...in long run it all equates out.

Haha... that s pretty typical of Deaf 258.

I got a funny story about him.

When my husband was living in the same apt with Deaf 258, and I was sleeping on my husband s bed when we werent married. He slept on the couch. :zzz: Deaf 258's computer is right by the couch. Deaf 258 sat on the floor, sitting front of the couch and browsing around the internet. My husband was sleeping and his legs were right front of Deaf 258's head. About 2 or 3 am... it was pretty late. All of sudden my husband kicked Deaf 258s head.. i mean HARD! Deaf 258 puzzled and said OOOOWW! but my husband was still sleeping. then a while later, he did it again!! He hit Deaf 258 s head harder! :slap: My husband woke up and realized that he hit him hard and asked Deaf 258 if he was ok. After Deaf258 said yeah, suddenly, my husband went to back to bed. I thought it was hilarous. :doh:

So yes Deaf258 always leave his computer on. Hehehe.

I do leave cable on all day but not aim ofc because the computer I used belong to brother and we share it.


I would leave my laptop on, but the light would wake me up in the night!

Raging Quiet, you can just close your laptop it does not turn your laptop off but it will leave it on and sometimes laptop have sleep mode feature on as well.
