First of all, I am not Indian. *Chuckles* And, of course I don't drink beer. :barf: beer ! Blah Yes, there's alot of Indian people who are an alcholic, but they also have some places to where they could attend to for AA meetin' to help their drinkin' problem. Same with the south of USA (lower 48 states) some people who are an alcholic, too... not just Alaska.
 
My younger sister went to Alaska with a friend and she was telling me it gets darker most of the day and only three hours of sunlight, or I may be wrong. Also I heard that the highest percentage of Alaskan people walk to work??

I live in Alaska. I have my own job with good pay. And, of course I live in an apt. with cheap rent (my apt. is in good condition and environment). It depends on where you want to live... some small cities are expensive comparin' to large cities. Same with jobs...dependin' on which city that has a good economic.

Yep.. for summer, the sun starts comin' up at 3 am in the mornin' until 11 pm. Only 3-4 hours dark *Chuckles* In winter, the sun comes up at 7:30-8 am in the mornin' until 3-3:30 pm. Speakin' of Alaskan people walk to work... not really. It all depends. For instance: If, you live in a very small town with 500 or at least 1,000 population, then you will probably have to walk to work since the location will be close to each other in one place. But, if the town has over 10,000 population, then, they will probably have their buses to take to. It all depends on where people lives.
 
I heard that Some People Design the Halloween Costumes to fit over a snowsuit...

Think about it.. They have more miles on snowblower than their car....

Do they cover windows with aluminum Foil.. Heh.. Just a joke...

I wondered if they have alot of Recipes for Moose Meat..

You know the 4 Seasons down there.. Winter.. Still Winter , Almost Winter and Construction... Heh!

I am sure The Mayor greets them on the street by their first names.. Even Living in a Small Town....:)
 
LOLZ, I am going to move to Anchorage, Alaska this week. I will let you know what is going on there? this is my first time to go there! of course, I am nervous. I am following my boyfriend there for Unversity of Anchorage, Alaska. Keep in touch! Mwaahies to you all!

I plan to move back to Alaska, too - but, the only problem is WHEN. :wiggle: I am sure you will love it there ! ;)
 
My dad went on 11 day alaskan cruise- He told me if you wanna drink achocal, you will need to shell out $5.00 to $7.00 for drinks.. more expensive than here.. I was like oh really? My friend did visited Alaska back in 90's, took pic of Alaksa's State Capitol, it doesn't look like government building, just simple business buildimg... I guess their state legislature isn't too formal like other 49 states....

The reason why the state capitol doesn't look old, more of a "modern" style is because that Alaska became a state in 1959, it was a US territory before that for several decades. Hawaii is also like that, looks like a office building, too.

I got a cousin living out there and she loves it there. :jaw: Anyway, not for me. But my aunt and her son *my cousin* went there for a week. My cousin showed me the pix of Alaska. There one pix of him standing in the snow on top of the mountain and wearing just short and short sleeve shirt. I asked him, Aint you cold stading on the snow. He said no. It's warm. :dunno: :rofl: But it was so nice to look at all that pix. I dont mind to visit but living there no way. :rofl:
