I think they are so cute. I often saw them at my friends´s place. It´s different story when they are PET.

Yes Jackie have no hair. It was born that way... :lol:
frist time I saw with no hair since few years ago. I thoungh it was ill. I ask who person work in pet store. he say Born that's way... I love no hair...

I dont understand why rats make good pets?....
Im NOT afraid of them but I DONT like them .....sorry.
I also do not like snakes..in fact, yesterday after work, we saw cottonmouth
snake in the road so my husband ran over it twice..lol!
I ran over a rat snake one time with the riding lawn mower..hehe
My dog hates mice too...he has killed a few, better than the cat lol!

You probably have that feeling like most people do. The majority of the population was raised to fear rats because of what others say about them. Stories about rats involve rabies, death, disease, black plague, etc. It's like ghosts and aliens. People were raised to believe that they are bad so once they see these things, they will panic. Who knows, maybe ghosts and aliens are harmless.
 
Well, Vampy..i said im NOT afraid of rats...i just dont like them is all.
If some people think of them as pets, thats fine with me. To me, they
are just nasty little varmints. Some people here said they hate rats and mice.
You right that some people fear them...but i dont!
 
Nah, not afraid of them. They lurk around the back of the store I work at. I still remember helping someone outside with a bike...she screamed and practically jumped into my lap when she saw one of them scurrying around in the bushes. LOL. I was like, "Lady, just don't bother them and they won't bother you." LOL.
 
Nope, I am not scared of them...my family member used to owned it...one of them was larger with thick tail...I used to pet alot when I was small boy...but infected rat are the reason we need to stay away...I saw alot of infected rat in alley of downtown plus sewer nothing new...
 
i'm not afraid of rats.. and umm.. something u'll hate me for this..

Last week on my vacation i brought a rat at the store and use it for fishing.. Muskies love to eat rats.. so that's why i use them as a lure (baby rats) :D also used mice, crayfish, frogs.. yeah it works :D

Maybe not, Malfy, but ...EWWWWWWWWWWWWW!! LOL

I don't like any rodent. I don't like mice, rats, hamsters, guinea pigs, or anything of the sort! LOL But, then, I'm biased....

When I was young, someone thought it would be a good idea to suggest a pet for me, because, I was shy and withdrawn, and they thought an animal would bring me out of my shell alittle. For some weird reason, they thought a tank of baby MICE would be good for me to have! :eek: LOL So, Mom and Dad tried it. They went out and bought these little feckers, and set up a tank in my ROOM! LOL

Ever since then, I wanted nothing to do with anything that squeaks or scampers! (and, it's probably why I developed a facination for snakes. Much to my Mother's disgust LOL)

im fine with rats LOL -- a friend of mine used to have a rat for a pet and whenever i was visiting her i would pet the rat -- growing up we (my sister and i) had hamsters, mice and guinea pigs -- we loved them but unfortunately they were killed by the family cat who used to outsmart us opening the tank :(
 
I had 8 rats when I was about 15 years old -- years and years ago. Mum and Dad weren't happy about it, but soon they fell in love with Banana Split (the baby rat) and it was sad when we had to put her down because her front 2 teeth kept on growing and curving inwards which made it difficult for her to eat.

Although I know that pet snakes are fed live rats -- it's always hard watching one being eaten by a snake. I once looked after a red-tailed boa for a so-called friend for a few months and fed it baby rats.

Hey, rats are part of the food cycle for some animals.

Rat for big snake. Mice or small rat for small snake.
All who love rats or mice. They are anger for fed snake. They are favor rat dead put some freeze save for fed snake. Some pet store did it.
Many rats need new home and no feed snake WOW. I know how our feel do not like keep rat live to fed snake. That's life. Same thing lion did eat the human. :ugh: Well.

Rat cant been fed the fish. Muskies is wild fish. You are crazy about fish. I know it you cant have pet of them. Muskies use eat small fish :bump:

If your rat had infected. Must go vet. If not it will go dead. *Infected* are not going hurt you. My rats have infected. I send they go vet. Now they are better. I did have before my one rat had ringworm on me. I take him go vet and I go doctor. It wont went hurt me...

How I know? That's how I chat with Rats Fourms.

I know why. They are so cute pet and rats is smart than dog and cat. And easy clean. Dog and Cat have hard time for you. That's how the people favor rats, all small animal. Almost like Toy Dogs.
