When you buy a refrigerator, computer , washer, dryer and etc... The sale person will often try to sell you an extended warranty....Insurance cover the cost of repairs, if anything goes wrong within the specified period, ususally three to five years....Should you pay the extra bucks?..

Yes, I do think it is Worth it.. Because that one time I did not pay a warrenty for the 62 inches Tv I had and it end up being broke after 4 months later and I had to end up paying for repairs Boy, That wasn't Cheap at all.. Even had to pay for Service Call which that was 60.00 (Just for them to come out and Look) If I had known to get a warrenty then I would have gotten free of Charge on Service Call and Repairs Depends on what is covered.

Heck yeah, warranties are worth it! It would reduce the cost of repairs significantly. I rather pay 60 bucks than 2000 bucks for replacing the motor (that includes estimate, parts, labor), for example.

yup they are worth to have warranty... Or you end up paying tons of moolahs!!

However as for Vehicles I agree it should be covered with extended warranty... I just bought a car.. with 60 mos/60 thousand miles whichever comes first.. soo Whew for that.. :D I got to have that why ?? cuz of the trips with my son going to doctors...

I don't know if it's worth it. I've gotten warranties on a lot of things I've purchased... and none of them needed it. :(

For most things, I decline the offer of an extended warranty. Studies have shown that it is a waste of money, for the most part. I usually tell the clerk, "Nah, I trust the product, don't you"? And mentally cross my fingers. LOL!

Depends...

Warranty:
wash machine and dryer because I use them heavily.
telelvision because hubby and I watch it together and different times
car because I travel 170 - 200+ miles a week

No Warranty:
My sidekick because I'm a light user and don't abuse it.

That's all I can think of right now...

I like your answer and youre right ....theres fact shown that its is a waste of money....

I voted ' Depend ' because, sometimes nothing breaks and by the time the warrenties expires , it will break or maybe it won't....

I would pay a warrenty only if it worth it ....

i choose depends...

Because some warranties have a fine print which its almost impossible to reconize it.. and its kinda sucker. such as ( we don't cover the labor charges) or ( we don't cover the part listed as a major problem) or (we don't cover wear and tear items) and many to list.
some warranties are tricky.

for me, I would choose to have warranties that's free. at no cost.

usually if you use that item alot and often and its more likely that it will be wear and tear.. and many warranties won't cover that costs.

I did voted 'yes'...even though there are several items that could go either way when it comes to purchasing warranties, etc.,...For most appliances such as washers, dryers, refrigerators, stoves, oven, microwave and for things like the television, things associated with t.v. such as DVD players and computers....most of these things ought to be covered...even most famous brands can break for no reason beside 'normal wear and tear'....small items like the DVD, etc., can break more easily and some warranties might offer free replacement....There's so many things in life around us that could benefit from the usuage of having a warranty and some...well, others...just 'cross your fingers and hope it lasts and don't break! :)

im voting yes cuz i have alot of tencho stuff and poor dad s going thru his toys like a puppy chewing its toys!

I voted "depends" 'cos for some things, some warranties only last one year, like for hairdryers and so on. Small things. Can just replace it with a new item if your credit card or store policy covers that.

But for big things like a new car, appliances, etc... it would seem to make sense to have warranty come with it. Less to pay.

I would vote “Depends”.

Warranty is suitable to use frequently like wash machine, car, dryer, dishwasher, TV, etc etc e.g. if I live in America.

Here is different from your country.

All Guarantees are included with prices offer of the Cooker, gas cooker, fridge, dishwasher, film camera etc etc etc, also car, furniture etc etc etc.. … Depend to every store that offers us the different Guarantees between 1 & 5 years. The repair or exchange are gratis, even no extra cent. I do not need to pay extra for the Guarantee because all are included.

Watch out, they would not guarantee you if you didn’t check with them for this before buy something or lost guarantee receipt.

We deal with every store for the guarantee.

Example of all, we deal 3 different stores for guarantee before buy new PC. They offer different guarantee from 1 to 3 years until we found better guarantee is 3 years at store to buy the PC last October 2003. They give me special guarantee receipt to keep.

This is example, we always deal for those guarantee like this.

I am interesting to share my country with your country

I will not say not all the product needs be Warranty for extra cost. I must have Warranty on my car because I do not know how to fix those junkie inside the car of motor.

If I want those items or products be able replace or anything reduce the cost to fix instead buy new one. You can talk to your local agent to cover those thing such as computer, tv, ice box, your bed, and etc. Just copy each serial number of those in case prevent due the stolen by broken into your house, strike due lighting, or it just stopped up for no reason. The insurance will paid for it. You just pay monthly and it shouldn't be cost a lot. I know one of my friend who live in the house and have insurance cover those item for 200 dollars per year that would be 17 dollars a month. You can check out but I know ALL State provide it. If you are interesting and then look your local for agent that handle with house insurance and not auto insurance only.

Warranties service is best choices!

I pay a warranty services on lappy puter, DVD player, networking equiptments and TV services..

if my tv tube goes out itself then I can call my local tv shop service to fix for free replacements under authorized Zenith service.. alway keep certificates in safe place in case of the authorized warranty techie ask me to show for proof of certificates..

My tv repaired 2nd times they taped my name and order # on side of my tv just only leave them alone, the techies would know my prevous repairs on these blue tape on side of my tv... my friend asked me "what is the blue tape with last name and code on it?" and I told a friend it's a tv repair service fixed on my tv set..

for Fire/water/loss damages the warranty *NOT* covered, you need to get a renter's insurance they can cover your equiptments.. but the puters insurance very HARD to find coverages.., the local insurance won't accept for computer coverages.. they're SUCKS!
