I have been suffering from acne problems and sometimes they really get worse. I have tried many of the anti-acne products available but I am not satisfied with them as I feel that the results they give are just a matter of time. Can anyone suggest me a good remedy for this?

I have not exp. with an acne problem myself. However, I do like buy Clean & Clear and Aveeno! I believe it is good! So try that everyday with two weeks to see result.

Good luck ;)

Do you have a good diet? If you eat/drink food that contains a lot of sugar, then it can cause an acne outburst. I was also told that caffeine and alcohol can also cause acne, which I experienced; no more alcoholic energy drinks for me.

You should also wash acne with warm water using a face/body wash that contains alkaline level of ph5.5.

I don't know anything about the stuff you can buy off the shelf, except that you should look for something that contains at least 5% benzoyl peroxide.

You could also see your doctor and ask for antibiotics. It worked well for me, but now I learnt that some people have experienced hearing loss due to antibiotics.

Alternatively, if you want instant results, you can try the mother of all medicines - Roaccutane, which is a prescription medicine from your dermatologist. As with all prescription medicine, you may experience side effects, which vary from dried skin to hallucinations (which is rare). Some people also say that Roaccutane has also contributed to depression and suicide, which are also rare.

I strongly advise you to see Dermatologist to avoid acne scars. She/He can check type of acne, you have and will offer you how to take care of acne problem and treatment.

Take plenty of Vitamin A and aviod frequent junk foods.

Plenty of liquid drink (water) to rid of toxins.

I don't know how old you are... it could be hormonal changes is the reason? (mentstrual cycle).

All what I know is sauna, steam room or facial sauna is the good one.

First of all is go to see Dermatologist.... then you will know more...

Good Luck

Have you given birth control pill a try? They have been known to clear up your complexion. It worked in my case and I didn't have acne.

But I suppose it depended on the severity of your acne.

if none of that works..................try this..............................

Well, shoot! Miss-Delectable, I would have suggested it, but you beat me to it. Actually, I recommend something else along those lines and hope I don't get censored here. This what I recommend: masturbate more frequently. Works for me!

LOL Are you serious?

Schermy: I don't care if she's a one-bagger, a two-bagger, or downright coyote ugly, I'm in love with the gal in the tight tee-shirt.

Pete: I think "masterbate" is a perfectly good word for adult discussion. But I have to agree with Omegaman as being puzzled as to how the practice could possibly help a female with acne problems.

Ah, but I am here to learn.

Best product I ever use is "Proactiv" and been using it for a very long time. It works well for me. Try that.

chase it is "masturbate"

I would say Proactiv but see your dermatologist doctor though...

I agree with many members about ProActive. I went thru a stage when I turned 30 with acne problems. Used ProActive...problem solved! Been 5 years now and I havent had any issues with acne. Also, I drink lots of water which helps also. Good luck!

Proactiv didn't work for me I tried it for 8 months and it worked well at first 3 months depsite making my face even more oily but still clear but after 3 months it made turn for worse, it left me with even more severe of a acne on my face than I had before proactiv it left about literally couple thousands of acne (small but visible red bumps) everywhere on my face and my upper back where I used some of proactiv on it was awful so I stopped and tossed proactiv in trash and it cleared up a lot and went back to mild to moderate acne so I'm using simple cleanser cetaphil for everytime I use shower, Equate (or Ponds) daily cleansing towelettes (its like wipes) for everyday for quick cleaning (I'm hooked on that stuff it makes me feel wonderful after wipe my face clean so I use it at least twice a day) and acne spot treatment that guarantee to reduce the size and redness in 24 hours only on bad one and anti-acne face lotion once in a while.
It work if I do this all time forever but if I got lazy zits will come back and fast too ugh
I did tried birth control pill it work very well but my body was too sensitive to that stuff so had to stop using pill :-(

One of my friends, she had acne problems and VERY fussy about it, and tried to use ProActiv, but in the end the results was "whatever you could not" She complained about the skin being dry and it hurts. I have tried it myself, It was when the bottles was low, and it works, but I mostly drink a lot of water anyway. I don't have the acnes anymore. (choclates aren't on my list either)

Do you wash yourself often such as taking a shower every day?
