I may be an fellow Australian here, with the fluent knowledge of American Sign Language after a year long of intense learning. Earlier tonight, I was invited by a friend and an local interpreter to a dinner outing, where I met the Australian man who used to live in Australia flew in with his American family.
The whole family is deaf, and they communicate in ASL (the man knows AUSLAN)and they are beautiful people, I was able to understand the whole communication in-between ASL and AUSLAN, and I experienced myself communicating to them in ASL, and it was like WOW, a deaf American family. Chatting with them and their two beautiful children, they were surprised that I could communicate very well in their language.
I'm deeply humbled by this. I just wanted to share with you all.
