I think it's due to small population base. I'm sure Wyoming and a few other states don't have professional sports team either.
Shel90.. there is a minor professional team in Alaska I beleive.. the ECHL Alaska Aces.. if ya want more info about that, ask me ok and I will provide some links if needed?
Because Alaskans are too busy wrestling with grizzly bears!
I think she's talking about major league sport teams not the minor league.
Yea, but they have the neighboring states' teams to adopt. Alaskans and Hawaiins dont have the luxury of going to professional sports events unless they pay a lot of money to fly out here in central US.
Do u think they should have NFL, MLB, NHL, and NBA in their hometown states?
i would agree with sequioas!
because Alaska and Hawaii both small cities and have no lives on tv but im sure we have lives on tv in states of 50 states im tell ya!
No lives on TV? tsk tskIf the population base is larger maybe they will create one of their own? Alaska only has 650,000 and Hawaii has about 1.2 million people.
Yea, major league sports. I dont think Alaska has a professional hockey team?
I think that is the decision of the sports corportations. Look at MD..we are a very very small state and we have a NFL and MLB team.
Alaska does have a minor league hockey team but not a major league like the NHL. Washington state does not have a major league hockey team either.

Maryland may be small but has a population of 5.6 million people. I got that from the city-data website just recently.

but Washington state does have a major league football, basketball and baseball team.
AZ has an ice hockey team!!! How ironic is that?![]()
Washington state does have several minor league hockey teams, though. We are going to have a major league soccer team in 2009 from what I heard on the news.5.6 million people in MD? How do we all fit in MD?
So, I guess it is due to the small population then?

Washington DC metro that's why.![]()
yes that's correct. Yeah it's all backwards hahaWashington state does have several minor league hockey teams, though. We are going to have a major league soccer team in 2009 from what I heard on the news.
