Hello..I have a 4-5 year Shake'Awake system..

I've sent it constantly for repairs , and vib system always die on me..Should I purchase new vib clock?which is the best?
 
How long does it vibrate before you turn off the alarm clock?

Are there times when you aren't even around when the alarm goes off so that it vibrates on and on until it stops on its own?

Is the cord stretched in any way or are there any objects in the way of the cord or touching the cord as it goes from your mattress to your alarm clock?

It vibrates for maybe 5 mins each time..and takes a break of 15 mins before it starts again..I need 3-4 times to at least wake up myself..and I always turn off the vibration when I finally get up..I'm a slow riser..so no , it rarely goes off when I'm not at home..

The cord is not stretched , although gets a lot of twists , I'm tossing a lot..and vibration pad fell off bed quite a few times so now I'm putting it inside pillowcase..and I 'hide' the cord behind some decorative pillows that I have so I won't yank right off..

Also needed to use clock with CI but I'm scared yet as the swelling hasn't gone down..it is safe to use? At hospital sometimes used the mobile phone and gotten the worst migraine ever!!and typically I don't have headaches not even before or after operation..

I have a Sonic Alert Alarm Clock. I've had it since 2000 and it still works beautifully.

I have friends who had the same alarm clock as I did, but it didn't last long because they didn't use them right.

They would...

- press the snooze button, get out of bed, then head to class (alarm would go off again 9 minutes later and keep going until it eventually stops or the roommate turns it off)
- leave it set in alarm mode at all times, then when they aren't there (spent the night at a friend's place)... the alarm will go off until it eventually stops or someone else turns it off
- make the vibrator cord very tight between the mattress and alarm clock (this causes the plug to get loose, bent, etc.)
- make the light cord very tight between the dresser and alarm clock (same problem as above)
- constantly drop things on the cord causing it to yank the plug out of the alarm clock (same problem as above)

What I do is have it plugged in and hang around the BACK of the dresser to the BACK of the mattress just enough so that it's still loose in between. I also turn off the alarm mode when I'm not using it. It has lasted a very long time for me. :)
 
I had a friend check the vibration pads..guess what..most of the pads have their safety burnt..

Guess vibration pads bought from Greece don't last long..my friend managed to fix the newest one and it works like a charm...
 
I believe there need to be physically damage that kind product wouldn't die.
 
Sonic Boom is awesome. I'm onto my 2nd one now, as my first one (which was sent to me free due to an article I wrote for Hearing Health when I was a kid) got screwed up after 1 too many thunder storms causing a power outage at home. Yep, couldn't reset the time or anything on the old Sonic Boom alarm clock, so I ordered a new one. This was about 3 years ago. Already my new clock has a knob missing, but that's ok. A knob I don't need, and it works great. :)

I remember my ex-girlfriend's Sonic Boom Alarm Clock. It went through a lot of abuse. One night, I was sleeping with her. The alarm went off at 2 in the morning and we couldn't even figure out why. The time was wrong too. That's why it went off early. I set the time right, and then around 4 am... it went off again. Turns out that there was a problem inside the alarm clock causing the clock to run 1 minute every 5 seconds. The second time the alarm clock went off, I turned it off and watched the alarm clock. That's when I noticed that it was running fast. :roll:

Is her clock from Europe? Cuz 50hz power line and If moved to USA and use adapter, using USA's 60hz power line make clock run faster than normal. :rofl: J/K

I believe that the resistors and capacitors are messed up causing clock to run faster than normal (old capacitor or resistor going bad anytime due to heat and stress). Also sometime digital clocks have crystal that regulates time may have mess up after several hard drop on floor.
 
My wife have Sonic Boom clock. I put vib pad sandwiched between bed materess support and materess. It works like charm and no worry about moving or dropping vib pad. Never had problems. My wife had her 2nd Sonic boom because 1st one went bad just like CDMeggers say about too many thunderstorms. She was disappointed that it's not black anymore, just white. Oh well. Sometime Sonic Boom can be funky and it vib 1 or 2 short burst then stopped even if alarm is off while I was napping. The built in SA receiver switch under SB is off.

I have my own very very ooollldd faithful and Reliable Radio Shack digital clock timer (got it back in 1982). It never fails me. I use old black SB's vib pad (sandwiched to bed matteress and support matteress) and modified it to 12vdc power transformer and plugged it to back of my Radio Shack clock timer. It works every time I use. Today's clock timer only allows 300 watt while my old old one allow 1,850 watt :lol: :lol: :lol: can run windowstill A/C :rofl: I wish I had Radio Shack 7 days clock timer that used to sell $70 but by the time I had money to buy, they stopped selling it. I was :pissed:

Hahaha... nah.

It worked fine. She usually had the vibrator cord tight or often dropped things (or put things) on the cord. That's like having a lamp plugged in and then placed far away where things could fall on the cord and pull the plug out of the outlet the wrong way. When that kind of thing happens to often, the wiring inside the lamp could get lose and/or the plug would get bent. She also likely dropped her alarm clock because when the cord is pulled, the alarm clock falls off the dresser. That kind of thing could cause the alarm clock to malfunction. :dunno:
 
My 6 years old portable shake awake has died few weeks ago but I managed to have CPR on it and it is working like a charm :mrgreen:

You better buy new one. Sonic Boom Alarm clock is better. My Sonic Boom alarm clock is over ten years old. no problem. I have another Sonic Shaker Vibrating Alarm Clock. It s powerful vibrator. its very good.

I m Harris Commuications dealer in selling any brand of alarm clock, tty, etc.

anyone know is there super alarm with super vibration
i mean super vibration becasue most time i have one alarm system
which it wake me up in 1 hour
becasue it only vibration each 5 min auto stop in 1 hour
i dont like it becasue i always work early am in 8 am i have get up in 6 am everyday
i always heavy sleep because i work 50+ hour per week

anyone know about super vibration ?

I have my own Sonic Boom with deep sleep vibrator. It's almost 9 years old now. I need to get a new vibrator because it's old. Whenever I set up the time for alarm. Sometime it's work and not. It used to be deep vibrator before. It's old now. I am getting a new one soon. I don't need the replace for clock. Because it's working fine. I mean the vibrator with cord line are screwed up.
