There is zero scientific evidence that anything will happen, but there are numerous things that could easily threaten the human species in the year 2012, such as a geomagnetic reversal, asteroid strike or supernova. Or soemthing more intimate, like a flu pandemic, or a nuclear war.

I recall looking into this after I watched the movie, Apocalypto in 2006. Basically, it just means the end of the Mayan calendar. Whether they did not finish the calendar, got interrupted, or actually did decipher it to end on 12/21/2012, we will not know.

Most of the stuff going out there today are just opportunities to cash in.

The world didn't end in 2000. Why would it in 2012? They'd just find another date to scare people about. Our species and life in general had survived flips of the Earth's magnetic poles plenty of times, as recorded by the symmetrical pattern of magnetic stripes on the sides of the mid ocean ridges recorded when the rocks formed.

Oh great, not another one! :roll: I put no stock into what people say and when they say the world "will end." Based on what is what the question should be.
 
Christer, why don't you loan $25,000 from bank so that way you can spend $25,000 before the world end in 2012?

Just water that will destroy the whole world ? How about the fire ? I believe the world will be destroy by fire. Have you heard when people say " Global Warmin' ? " Why is that ? Could it be leadin' to fire in the near future that will destroy this earth ?

i believe that earth will be destory by the fire, not water cuz it already happened long time ago that it got flash flood i dunno what year but it was in noah time....and god promise wont have flash flood (the same one as in noah time) so will switch to a fire instead but we cant know when, only god does so just wait and see what will happen
 
The Calendar may end, but it does not end time. Numbers do not end. The Earth has to end before numbers do.

Keep counting what comes after 2012? 2013, 2014,.......................

Would it be helpful if I tell Russian/American government to calm down, no nuclear weapons, no war just to prove Mayan Calendar wrong. :lol:
