The Spanish socialist government has decided to pass a law permitting gay couples to marry in Spain, thus joining Netherlands, Belgium, Canada and Massachusetts to approve of such unions. One quote struck me as true, and it is pretty sad that so many people forget this:

"We were not the first, but I am sure we will not be the last. After us will come many other countries, driven, ladies and gentlemen, by two unstoppable forces: freedom and equality," he said.

"We are not legislating, ladies and gentlemen, for remote unknown people. We are expanding opportunities for the happiness of our neighbours, our work colleagues, our friends, our relatives."

yeah this country love to slaughtered bulls, don't care about animal cruelty...
and but they have compassion for gays...
That doesn't make sense.

Going off topic, aren't we?
America does so many things that makes no sense, like banning same-sex marriages, for example!

Awesome!

But isnt Spain a strong Catholic country? I m rather surprised that Spain passed the law.

it is just a marriage... why would USA waste time banning that?
I don't think I ever want to get marry. What is it so special about
marriage anyway? Just stay with someone forever and then what?

Please dont ruin this thread, MissP. You dont have to post here if you dont like what you are reading. Simply leave this alone rather than going on another one of your rantings.

Enough said! :squint:

Yes, Spain is a very devout Catholic country. People are actually trying to protest this, but the government knows better to keep religion and secular issues separate.

Also, in Italy, where Catholicism is very strong, you also see a lot of very open gay people out in the streets holding hands and kissing. It's really strange, you would think, but people over there know better than to try to bash them. In the US, on the other hand, Americans will simply bash gay couples if they tried to do something out in the open.

Whether you want to marry or not is your own progative. It is not for you to decide whether if marriage is a worthwhile option for others.

Talk about irony.

Go Spain! I wonder if this will start a flocking of same sex couples, like what has happened in the states that issued marriage liscenses? Some of those states later revoked the liscenses though...

yeah it is easy to have government and judges to pass laws,
just cause they feel sorry for you. heck, that is how Abortion is legal.

I don't have any, but I know that the violent felon can ask governor to
allow him or her to vote, and the governor will grant
the violent felon permission to vote for President or whoever.... Did you know that?
And I bet Mark Hackings will get out of prison early too.

Geez, the world is weird.

Yeah, like the U.S.!

I really wish it could be like Iraq alittle bit, that country has a few
Aids/HIV victims there, and no abortion, and less crimes...

It would be sad if USA changed Iraq strict tradition.

GRRRRRR....I was just gonna post about this!!!!!
Still I mean this is WONDERFUL!!!!!! I did read that RI and CT might allow gay marriage, and I'm sure that Vermont will eventually allow gay marriage too! I mean there's already civil unions! Maybe New England will start something! :)
Miss P there's a lot of reasons to get married, tax reasons, vistation, adoption all sorts of legal privilages!!!!

WHOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOO international ROCKS!

looking forward to the aloha state to repeal that banning and revert it back to the way it was SHEESH

but in all sense weather me and my partner marry or not we're gonna be ard forever, and im thrilled to see the news!

The European really don't practices the reilgion seriously like the American do. Therefore those laws made sense to them and not to the American or to the religious people.

Now I conclusion to this. World will blame homosexual people for their sickness that spreads around the world which it could outcome this world just like a completely blackness world.

Just wait and you will see like that.
No more comments farther.
