    ENT refuses to prescribe HA's

I went to vocational rehab, who saw me because I was having trouble keeping my job. My VR lady sent me to both an audiologist AND an ENT. It was a great day and only my lower range hearing was affected. I re-iterated over and OVER again that I was having trouble and that my hearing loss...

    ENT refuses to prescribe HA's

Dr. Doctor, Please, forgive my ranting, Dr. Doctor. I'm sure you think you have better things to do. I'm sure the co-pay I pay you to see me for 10 minutes will sit nice and cozy in your pocket when you get your check. I'm sure you're also enjoying the fact that you can hear everything...

Ooooh... thanks for the tip. I've got a lot of their requirements out of the way, too.

Moving to Jersey -- school options?

I am looking for an interpreter program near New Jersey/NYC area. What schools have interpreter programs in that area? I've tried doing research and all I've found is NYU which is SO expensive. :( Are there other options?

Well I have to learn more than just basic ASL. I have to learn how to interpret ASL into oral English and then interpret oral English back into ASL. It's a lot more complicated than I thought it would be. :)

Well thank you! I love helping people! That's definitely my goal. I watch professionals on youtube.com all the time and I really hope that one day I will be as amazing and as fluent as some of them! It's a work in progress. I'm still on the more SEE side than the ASL side. I'm learning...

I know it is long! I can't wait to be done! I was going to be a history teacher, but I changed my mind and decided to become an interpreter instead. :) It is nice because I can make my hobby my career. I can spend all of my time working with the people I love in the Deaf community! That...

    Best city for Deaf people?

Ouch, LA is really really expensive. I'm just getting out of college and I'd really prefer somewhere affordable, lol. Phoenix is a dustbowl and hot, too. I was thinking maybe somewhere around the D.C. area, possible... Baltimore, Alexandria, Richmond, etc. Not really sure yet, still doing...

Happy Birthday, Derek! And yes, smithtr, I am very strict about attending school... even though I'm ready to be done! I love ASL and the Deaf community so it makes it all the more worth my time!

I figured the R stood for Rochester. haha! Of course I've heard of Gallaudet and McDaniels, but not RIT. I'll have to look into it, but I've always said I didn't want to be in school for eight or twelve years. I just don't have the patience for being lectured and taking tests and all of that...

Thank you dragonman. RIT? I feel like I should know what that is... I've been in school for forever; I really should be done by now but I have two years left of my program. I'm leaning toward moving to Washington D.C. when I'm done because I really do love politics and I'd love the atmosphere...

Nice to meet you as well! I'm looking for somewhere to move once I finish my degree in ASL Interp. Just haven't figured out the right place yet. :)
