CI and HA user how do you train your brain

jillio, I am reading this post trying to learn something from vallee's original question. It just seems you pop up in every thread concerning CI's in order to spout off and provoke other posters. If this is not your true intention, then I apologize in advance. However, this is my...

CI and HA user how do you train your brain

I believe the original poster (vallee) was the one doing the asking here? And it is obvious you are not posting any info that may be pertinent to her orignal question.

CI and HA user how do you train your brain

This is a perfect example of you turning a innocent post into a battlegroud for your "cause". It reallly is disheartening for those of of who seek information and communication with those who may be able to share their experience and opinions without it turning into an arguement.

    Audiologist said....

skullchick, My audiologist had me do the test with and without the aid. I am sure my loss is not nearly like yours and I am a candidate. Mainly due to the fact that my speech discrimination is so poor in both ears. I am sure everything will work out for you. dogirl

    The cost of CI....

About the same if your car broke down and you couldn't get to work. Times have changed so much that it is almost impossible NOT to be dependent on technology. I have NO idea what I would do with out my computer or cell phone. Go through withdrawls maybe. LOL dogirl

Without HAs - don't you feel....

I was diagnosed in high school (about 16, 39 now), but I can remember having symptoms in JH. I just thought I had the flu or something. I have not had an episode of vertigo in a while, but I do have days where my equilibrium may be off a bit. Few and far between however. Thank God. Now...

Without HAs - don't you feel....

I definately identify with your description of what you felt those two months. While my hearing loss is not as profound as yours, I have ALOT of sound distortion because of Menieres. You could be talking to me and I will not understand a word on a really bad day. However, being able to turn...

Would you get implanted today if....

I agree.. surgery is a pretty big risk. Maybe the thread should explore people's personal resons for NOT choosing to take advantage of the technology. This could be helpful to people on the fence (like myself) who really need to see both sides of the coin. I have started the evaluation...

Which are you afraid of the most ????

Spiders creep me out. I think it is the legs that do it. That horse in Phillip's posts deserves some recognition too.

    Looking for a pure bred??

Dixie, Great thread! You covered it all. Take it from me when I say that about 1 person in 100 actually does the research like you. As a dog trainer, 99% of my clientelle admit to impulse buying or adopting. Even the ones that do plan for the dog/puppy do not put much thought into it...

    Cochlear Implant Surgery Date

I have not done the alert training myself because I cannot certify. I have helped them set the basic foundation with general obedience while they wait for the approval process. The alert training itself is fairly simple however. The organization actually sends trainers to the home so people can...
