Aleser... I did attend regular schools (public) once in a while, but I didn't receive services related to my hearing because it's relatively "new" and medication induced, not congenital. Does that mean that a child has to have a congenital hearing loss to be able to receive services for...

Does anyone know what laws are out there for education of children who are deaf/hoh? What kinds of things are the public schools required to provide for these kids and are they adequate for them? Thank you!

Ha-ha... (not paying attention). My friend who is deaf used to turn her hearing aid down when her 2 year old son started getting whiny! Boy, I was soooo jealous... ha-ha!

Asl I am actually taking a class on ASL at my church. He is a wonderful teacher, but I find it frustating because as you know, if you don't have practical usage of a language, you just don't pick it up very fast. Plus, I am not in my teenage years any more so those neurons just don't connect...

So he just writes them notes? What is a text pager? Does he read lips? How does he understand what someone is saying to him? Thank you for being patient with me and all my questions! :type:
